Remove Sights from ATD 22 (Interarms)

It's a Chinese copy of a Browning .22 rifle.
The sights are both dovetailed into the barrel.
Here is an owners manual with a parts schematic:

To remove them, I would support the barrel in a padded vice.
And use a brass or nylon punch and a small hammer to drive them out left to right.
Just like any other dovetail sight on any other .22 rifle.

I've had one of those for about 20 years. It uses the Weaver 60A sight base. I milled out a slot on the bottom of the base that enables you to leave the rear sight in place. Why Weaver didn't do that from the factory, I'll never know. You could use a hacksaw and a file if you don't have a mill. Or drill overlapping holes to make the slot.
You might want to measure both sides of the sight dovetails with a dial caliper before going live with a hammer. The cut in the barrel will be straight but the dovetail part of the sight could have a .002 to .004 taper from one side to the other.
Browning long guns I have taken down previously had dovetails and pins going in (and back out) from the right side.
I just had the sights out of a Belgian Browning 22 auto last week and the dovetails were not "sided", but I did take the 15 seconds to check before breaking out the big hammer.

Depending on what base you use you may not need to remove the rear sights. I use the Leupold double dovetail mount. It's all steel and has clearance for the rear sight.
