Have some scratches on the receiver of a Marlin 39A... They are NOT deep, just surface. What's the best way to get rid of them?...
Or, is it best to send it off to get re-blued... prices?
    Thanks
    .

Get a Birchwood-Casey Presto blue touch-up pen at Walmart.

A good re-blue job will cost you probably $200+ and up after you pay shipping both ways to a good shop.

Wouldn't be worth it to me.

+1 on the touch up pen. It wont be perfectly matched but it will help. It will also help prevent rust from gathering in the scratch. Granted, bluing rusts (hell it IS a form of rust) but scratched raw steel tends to get that ugly brown stuff :(

Beyond the 'touch-up pen' are there any solutions/liquids that could work?

Other than a full takedown and re-blue, nope not really.
