I'm trying to remove the rear sight blade and ladder on my ChiCom-made SKS. There appears to be a roll pin that the ladder rotates on, but I haven't been able to drive the pin out to release the ladder. Do I need a bigger hammer or is there a trick I'm missing?

DON'T TRY TO DRIVE THE PIN OUT. IT'S NOT A PIN. IIRC, it's just milled nubs on the side of the sight. To remove, you need to press down and rearward on the forward end of the sight leaf to overcome the leaf spring tension. There is an interior milled slot that these nubs engage. Good luck. It should just pop out with not overly much force. I use a blunt screw-driver.
