I have a standard Century GP75. I have tried on several occasions to remove the slant brake. It is held in place by a depress-able pin that sticks out of the bottom of the front sight base. Problem is, no matter how hard I press, I can't get this spring loaded pin to depress enough to allow the slant brake to rotate so I can remove it. Anyone ever run in to this before? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I had the same problem on a Chinese NHM-91. I had drift out front pin of the front sight base to get off the stock thread protector. Might work in your case

Hose it down with a good penetrating oil like PB Blaster, just make sure it won't eat the finish first. I swear every part of my AK had grit in it from the factory, like they were doing the assembly in a sandbox. I'd spray it then go to work on it after a minute or so.

No. Tapping pretty hard doesn't do a thing. I will either drift out the front pin or trim the detent pin with a Dremel. No hurry, cause I don't have a replacement muzzle device yet.

Well it had to be depressed all the way for them to get the slant brake on at the factory, then not be in a bind for the spring to push it back out. I'd say you have some foreign object in there holding things up.
