Here are two petitions to repeal the NFA and the Hughes Amendment. Please sign these petitions and forward to any other red blooded Americans. Note that after signing, you need to go to your email and click the like in the email to confirm your signature. We all cry about how we don't like the NFA red type and we now have an opportunity to take advantage of a Republican government.

Mods, I request keeping this thread in the NFA sub forum as these petitions only apply to the NFA.

These petitions are a bad idea. Nobody in power pays any attention to them. They're just a way for the public to blow off steam.

But the worst thing about them is that if they fail to get really large numbers of signers (which appears to be the case here), they make the proponents seem weak. That's worse than not starting the petitions in the first place.

It's better to lobby your lawmakers directly.

Seems like it applies to the 2nd Amendment to me.

Maybe because it is held in a tiny group of gun owners. Kind of like "shotgun" owners vs black rifle owners vs muzzled loader owners. Don't put yourself into a little "click" of gun owners and there is a much larger population backing the concept of freedom.

I don't own a pink fuzzy gripped pistol but I support those that do just the same.

So they don't pay attention to it...but they do?

Alrighty then.

We are all pumped over the possibilities for gun rights with our supporters controlling all branches of government. To spend political capital trying to open up machine guns to civilians is a fools errend.
I've spent more time and treasure over 45 years than most fighting the good fight from Illinois. I will not spend any of it trying to do something that will scare the hell out of fence sitters and non believers. Ask folks you know that are not fellow travelers what they think about open machine gun ownership.
My family is still not all that comfortable with CCW. I carry and they know it and we don't talk about but in passing. Too many other issues need a full court press to waste time with FA controls. The firestorm
from our enemies would dwarf what we've seen so far and completely cloud the issue when it comes bringing about national resoprosity or removing suppressors from NFA control. JMHO

I applaud the effort, but the petitions have been completely ineffective. Sign them if you like, but we really should be pressing our congress critters to pass the Hearing Protection Act.
