The stock front blade shoots 10 in high at 100. Guess Swedes calibrated them to shoot "on" at 250 meters. Replacements (taller) blades are readily available. How much hassle and what procedure to install new one?

The smallest notation on my rear site is a 3... I always assumed this meant 300m... So I tend to agree with you on how there were originally calibrated...

Shouldn't be too hard. Although the old blade may not have been moved in the last 100 years.

Just get a good support block under the sight band and drive it out left to right with a brass punch.

The new sight may be over-size and need some metal filed off the bottom of the dovetail until it will fit the rifle dovetail.

Left to right, as you would look down the sights while shooting it.

It may not matter, but it is an old gunsmith thing that all pins and sights come out left to right, and go back in right to left.

Many older guns had a slight taper to the dovetail or pin hole.
