I have several Revolvers primarily for Hunting.
In dim light I have trouble picking up Front Sights to get acceptable accuracy, Especially with red or orange standard factory ramp Sights.
This is true in GP100 357, Super Redhawk 44, and SW 686 ( but less of a problem with 686).
Usually I end up shooting about 8 inches High at 25 yards.
The ones I have with quality factory fiber optic have no problem, and black finer sights seem ok.
I know the GP100 have a detent to Press change front sights but I'm not sure about the 686 and some performance center models seem very specific and also I'm not sure about the Super Redhawk.
I called Ruger about the Super Redhawk front sights and they were no help and just referred me to their website to buy some fiber optic but it wasn't the right kind and I had no information as to whether it would work on my gun.
I want to keep some of my hunting pistol s optic Free.
Help please?

Yes, the sights on the GP100 6 inch and the SRH are Same red/orange front ramp
With Good light I shoot Great w the SRH's
But I m getting rid of that GP100, but have a 5 " for life.
I saw a guy who had like trijicon Tritium Sights on his GP with color s like glow green and orange front And rear

Will gold bead or XS big dot show up at night?
I absolutely love the orange glow blade on my performance center 44 eight and three-quarter inch

Be aware Ruger changed the front sight in the newer SRH, they use screws instead of the push to change. If yours is older it will take the same style sight as the GP.

Thanks you're right about them changing the super Redhawks and mine is older and has no screws because Ruger started telling me all this stuff about screws on the phone that was not relevant.
So to take mine out of the Super Redhawk is it the same system as a GP100?
Like just a detent to push in in the front above the front of the barrel?
So are you saying front sights for a GP100 and an older model Super Redhawk are interchangeable?

They are the same style and remove the same but I believe the sights themselves are different heights. Here’s a link to a fiber optic SRH sight with the plunger style like you have, it’s what I run on my 7.5” SRH and works really well.

When you are shopping for them just make sure they are plunger style not screws

Just don't order from Bowen. I did, and had to cancel the order after 4 months of waiting and getting an obvious run around line of bull about waiting 5 weeks on screws. Stick with the good advice you're getting above.

Thanks sabbfan and E. Cowboy, etc for your clear and helpful advice.

As far as the XS vs XA, not that I'm necessarily looking for a night sight but definitely something that will show up at least an hour after sunset 4 deer hunting and practice shooting in pre Dawn and dusk light

Thanks for the help with the Rugers, but what about the Smith & Wesson's especially 686 plus and also performance center models.
Specifically what sights fit 629 44 Magnums and 686 plus
I see things for the DX system on the sites you sent and nothing as specific what was listed for the Rugers

When I looked on some of those sites indicated that the sites for the Super Redhawk that were compatible with the GP100 and red hawk we're only for 44 Magnum Super Redhawks exclusively.
So what type would fit my Toklat 454?
