I made this shoulder holster for a friend of mine, and thought I’d show it off. It’s my interpretation of Doc Holiday’s shoulder holster from the movie Tombstone, (with a few tweaks with my own creative license.) This is first time I’ve made a holster for someone else. It kind of hurt to give it up, lol. I found auction photos of the actual holster to use as my reference, along with screen shots from the movie. My friend picked up the holster over the weekend. He was thrilled, which was a good feeling. Thought y'all might like seeing it.

Nice work, I mean that is sweet!
thank you very much. I told my friend if he buys a cowboy gun, I'd make him a holster. He finally bought one, and we brainstormed holster ideas. When I mentioned making a copy of Doc Holidays shoulder holster, that ended the debate, and that was immediately the decision. It took me about two months of evening and weekends to research it, find reference photos, work out the design and fitment, and make the final holster. I think it was worth it.

Josey Wales had some neat holsters. I try to incorporate waist pants spenders to keep em up . Can't always wear bibs
if you look as Josey Wales, his belt rides really righ, well above his hip bones. That's so the weight of the belt falls on his hip bones. If you wanted it lowed, you'd definitely need suspenders, or those walkers would be pulling your pants down all day.

Do you take commissioned work?

Kevin
Sorry, I don't. This isn't my job. I have a full time job, and not enough hours in the day to get done everything I want and need to do. I couldn't possibly take on commission work. Maybe one day, when I retire, but that's no time soon.

I`ve always thought that if I wanted to carry a back up hand gun into the back country that this would be a good way to carry one. Relatively out of the way yet quickly available if needed.

The original John Henry Holliday documented, sawed off 10ga SxS gun and the leather shoulder rig for it, were in the Gun Report, full page photo ad, for sale, about 40 years ago. Call for price, serious Collectors only!!

Gun Report also had an as new Colt Walker shipped to Walker himself, never delivered to hm as he was dead. Six page ad. Call for Price. Serious Collectors Only!

Gun Report was where big time/ big money collectors advertised
