This forum seemed the right place to let loose some of my celebratory mood as it's been populated by people that:
A. Generally view the venerable 870 with a degree of fondness.
B. Some hold an old reverence for blue and wood.
C. Can remember regretting the sale of a favored firearm.

After 25 years of off-and-on searching for something like the 870TB I never should have turned loose of, my FFL called today to say a package showed up from Alaska. It still fits. Anybody old enough to remember the 1970's TB's that were routinely stocked with fine lumber?

It's like finding an old friend. The SP3 is going to get neglected for a while. Remmie, I and several boxes of Blue Magics (who remembers those?) got a date with some clays this weekend. :D

And thanks to WildAlaska and Wild West - don't know how you found it, but I'm in your debt.

Congratulations!!

I'd be doing a two-step and buying drinks for the house too. :p

Yeah, yeah, yeah, and and yeah - I remember all that stuff.

Great wood on a Great gun. Shot many a Blue shell, including the paper ones. And yes, Wild is a great guy and has some great resources.

Now git out there and run'em . :D

I actually got those blue guys just a week ago - local shop had 'em stirred into the AA's as new stock. Sometimes I wonder where this guy gets his stuff. The boxes aren't even faded - I thought it was "new repro" stuff like what the CAS people get.

I don't know when it was made - late enough that the box has a barcode but early enough they were still crowing about the "New" 209 primer. :)

YES!!!!

Thanks, you made my day. Another trap grade 870 gladdens the heart of a THR brother.

Usually, I ask how a new shotgun shoots for the owner. This time, I know.....
