Glue & Joints
In reply to what kind of glue that I use on felt and also to velvet, or satin when lining the cases that I make for my pistols. I use a glue called Tacky Glue that is found in Hobby stores. There is a hobby store in my area called Michials, and it can be found at the fabrick stores called Johann Fabricks. It is a tacky glue that sticks to what ever you are gluing, and can be moved around for a few minuts before it dries perminantly. It dries clear. About the joints, I always use finger, or box joints, but some prefer other kinds of joints, such as a 45% angle with a spline cut across the joint. Instructions for making wood joints can be found at any woodworking Store, such as Woodcraft. Making these boxes is time consuming, but very rewarding. Perhaps some of the other box makers on this forum use other types of glue and joints.
I swore that I would not make any more cases after I had built cases for my Black Powder Colt collection, but I am in the process of building some cases for my modern S&W revolvers. Can't leave it alone I guess.
