My 870 police suffered a degrading moment when the stock actually cracked. What to do, I have three other stocks laying around but I decided to try something new. I acquired a Mesa adapter, Houge grip, and a Magpull CTR. I took it to the range with some three inch magnums to see how those worked, awful hard on the shoulder. Results of three shot groups were a little high, my fault, but they patterned well.

Before and after plus a target.

I like the look of the Mesa kit, but they cost a lot (plus the associated grip and stock), but everybody says they kick like a mule......guess I will have to stick with my old fashioned stock.

Those big holes are Remington Slugger 3 inch, trying to use up the last of it as I switched to 2 3/4 several years ago. Them little holes are from my father's nine shot .22.

Yes, I have seen an ad for the limbsaver pad and I believe that will be my next purchase. Thanks.

Range was 25 yards, and yes those 3 inch magnums are punishing. I have since acquired two older police shotguns that are 2 3/4 only. For this reason and the punishment 3 inch magnums offer I am going only to 2 3/4.

The choke is IC.
