For many of us, long distance phone calls cost nothing. PHONE your senators and representative and tell them not to vote for any new bans on rifles. It takes less time and energy than writing an email and it's more effective because it's more personal. I just phoned mine and left voice mails. You can do it in half the time it would take to write even an email. And I know from experience, a KIND, RESPECTFUL phone call is more effective.

From the following page, enter your zip code.

Oh, by the way... points I made in my voice mails.

Please vote AGAINST any new gun bans.
It is unconstitutional of the president to enact any executive order, circumventing the legislative process. I believe it is a slap in the face to you, Congressman or Senator, and a slap in the face of all Americans. Please act to prevent him from doing such a thing.
I will monitor voting records, and if I see that you vote for any new gun ban, I respectfully will do everything in my power to see that your opponent is elected during the next election.

I also am likely to make 3 phone calls a week over the next several weeks. One can do that while stuck in traffic.

Most Representitives and Senators have local offices scattered throughout their districts or states so you should be able to leave a phone message or speak with a staffer without calling DC.

I whole-heartedly agree with you Rider. My post was designed to require the least amount of work but absolutely, phoning the local office is a great idea as well.
