Lets see that rifle pistol-pistol/revolver combo. They don't have to be of the same caliber just whatever makes sense to you and why.
I have been going down this path for years, wanting the ideal rifle-pistol combo for me. At first I wanted to go with my Glock 22 and get a Sub2000 to pair it up with. However this didn't seem to fit the hunting roll very well. I wanted something that could perform every roll I had in mind in one and do it well. For me this was hunting, SHTF, and HD. It couldn't just be ideal for one of these rolls it needed to do them all. In order to this it had to be capable of handling many different loads, for small game, big game and defense. Obviously in order to be this versatile it couldn't be an auto loader as they tend to be pick on power factors. Of course this meant that I would be giving up a good bit on capacity for the defensive factor. In order to perform the SHTF roll both the rifle and pistol needed to be able to use the same ammo as carrying multiple calibers doesn't make sense in SHTF.
After several years of research and determining exactly what I wanted this particular combo to do I chose the Marlin 94c and the Ruger GP100. This would allow to use SWC .38s for Small game and full bore .357s to fill the roll of hunting and HD. The .357 has been is a proven man stopper and given its velocities when coming out of a carbine it is a formidable big game cartridge when used within reason. Even at 100 yards it still has more muzzle energy than the same round out of a 6" revolver at the muzzle. So with no further ado.
