Lets see that rifle pistol-pistol/revolver combo. They don't have to be of the same caliber just whatever makes sense to you and why.

I have been going down this path for years, wanting the ideal rifle-pistol combo for me. At first I wanted to go with my Glock 22 and get a Sub2000 to pair it up with. However this didn't seem to fit the hunting roll very well. I wanted something that could perform every roll I had in mind in one and do it well. For me this was hunting, SHTF, and HD. It couldn't just be ideal for one of these rolls it needed to do them all. In order to this it had to be capable of handling many different loads, for small game, big game and defense. Obviously in order to be this versatile it couldn't be an auto loader as they tend to be pick on power factors. Of course this meant that I would be giving up a good bit on capacity for the defensive factor. In order to perform the SHTF roll both the rifle and pistol needed to be able to use the same ammo as carrying multiple calibers doesn't make sense in SHTF.

After several years of research and determining exactly what I wanted this particular combo to do I chose the Marlin 94c and the Ruger GP100. This would allow to use SWC .38s for Small game and full bore .357s to fill the roll of hunting and HD. The .357 has been is a proven man stopper and given its velocities when coming out of a carbine it is a formidable big game cartridge when used within reason. Even at 100 yards it still has more muzzle energy than the same round out of a 6" revolver at the muzzle. So with no further ado.

I like those grips on your GP-100, Who made them? And, good choice for a combo.
The only combo I have is a Ruger 10/22 and a Colt Target Model 22 semi auto pistol. Sooner or later that will change.

This is my favorite combo, my Rock River Arms LAR-6 A4 Mid-length in 6.8spc and Glock 21. Although they might be frowned upon for hunting, the 6.8 has proven itself on most North American large game.

My favorite combo is my Rossi Model 92 large-loop lever action carbine along with my Beretta Stampede, both in .45LC.

They are the Hogue Hardwood grips, they are built to the exact dimension of the rubber ones but they give the revolver a better look and feel. They did require a little brass shimming to get them tight though. Thanks for the compliment.

The most popular cartridge rifle/handgun combo in the latter 19 century was the .44-40 in the 1873 Wincchester and the 1873 Colt SA. When Colt chambered the 1873 SA for.44-40 in 1878, the rest is history.

I have 3 combos.

Ruger 10/22 with Ruger 22/45

Marlin 1894C with Ruger Police service six or SP101

Ruger PC 9 carbine with CZ 75b or compact.

I think this is interesting, not because I have a combo, but I'm looking for a combo that will make up my entire collection (well, multiple copies of each model).

I have a Marlin 1894 and a S&W 629, both chambered in .44Mag that I acquired in the latter half of the '80s.

Originally, 10-15 years prior to that, I decided that such a combination would be good for (black) bear hunting ... just in case I had to climb a tree, I would still be armed, y'know? Well, it seemed like a good idea when I was 20, or so. ;)

The irony is that by the time that the stars aligned to enable me to acquire the combo I had no interest in harming any bears.

It is still a good walk-around combo for wandering about on my ~180 acre, mostly-wooded ancestral farm.

S&W 651 3" and a Ruger 77/22 Mk II in .22 WMR

FNP-9 and Kel Tech Sub2000 in 9mm

Colt Python and Marlin 1894 in .357 Mag

Ruger Standard and Marlin mod 60 in .22lr

AutoOrdnance (Numrich West Hurley) .45 TM1 semi-automatic carbine and automatic pistol.
.357 Rossi Puma leveraction carbine, Ruger Security-Six.

1) Marlin 1895GS (.45-70 Gov't.) & Colt 1873 SAA (.45 Colt)
2) Nagant 1895 (7.62X38Rmm) & Mosin Nagant 91/30 (7.62X54Rmm)
3) Yugo M57 (7.62X25mm) & AK-47 (7.62X39mm)
4) Winchester 94 (.30-30 Win.) & Colt "Python" (.357 Mag.)
5) AR-15 (5.56X45mm) & Sig Sauer P226 "NAVY" (.9X19mm)
All have their place in history and my heart. (And no I can't just pick one!):D

I like the OP although IMO its far to broad a topic for me to really post my choices. I'm a Life Member SASS shooter and I have combo-gun batteries in 45 Colt, 44 magnum, 44-40, and 38/357 magnum. Here's my 44-40 battery:

1866 Yellowboy on top. Then, L to R Uberti Cattleman, Navy Arms (Uberti) Schofield, Colt SAA, and below that a Rossi M92. That's six Rifle/Revolver Combos right there.

And probably twice that number in the other calibers mentioned.

Its the "odd combos" that perplex me the most. In the last few years I've general stopped carrying revolvers when I'm in the high desert whether exploring or prospecting, mainly because of an incident a few years back that ended well, but could easily have left fatalities and changed the lives forever of the "winners".

Ever since then, every man that leaves the ranch for the high lonesome, has packed an auto, not surprisingly chambered for 45 ACP. Close up, face to face Personal Defense has indeed become a serious consideration.

I tend to go with my Glock 30 paired with a Trapper length lever rifle in either 45 Colt, 44 Mag, or 30-30. OR... paired with a 12ga Coach Gun across the forks of my ATV.

"General all around" Utility is the primary consideration for a long gun on an exploratory or prospecting trip and in the high desert 223 is USELESS as a general purpose round. The 7.62x39 will suffice, but the 30-30 will do the same job ~50 yards "better" and I don't have to fiddle with magazines.
