Have any of y'all tried this Rifletech SKS trigger group? It's definitely pricey, but that's not the point. I'm wondering about how well it both fits and functions as well as quality of workmanship. All that I know is that it's a 3# pull and DC (Rifletech/Hitech) manufactures the trigger group in Michigan.

I'm aware of few options for upgrading the SKS trigger; I do expect to get a kivaari rework of a Yugo trigger group back Friday, and that and the Rifletech are the only two options of which I know.

The SKS trigger group is actually a fairly decent design when its put together properly. Still its rather expensive, but the big advantage is thats alot of parts changed out to comply with 922(r) rules. You could probrobly do just as well though by putting in a set of wolff springs and setting it up properly. You could even get Tom Prince at Kivaari.com to do the work for you at $60 and in the end you have a really good trigger group. $225 is way too much.

I have not had a good personal experience with Rifletech, and most of the items they list can be found elsewhere for much less money. I also read that thread on SKSboards.com regarding whether or not the trigger group is US made and I must agree. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, etc, it must be a duck. They are reworking surplus kits and laughing all the way to the bank.

If you went with a Kivaari job you did the right thing. It will probably work just as well and the man will maintain contact with you, unlike Rifletech.

I have a trigger group going to Tom in March.
I'll hopefully have a quick report by the end of the month.

Tom responded to my email questions right away and I'm looking forward to his work.

RTFM
