Rimfire scope recommendations

Thank you all shooters . I ask what I thought was maybe a simple question about rim fire rifle scopes . Never expecting 50 replies , with as much information , suggestions and first hand experience as I could digest . Due to shoulder surgery I have yet to make a firm decision and lay the money down . Thanks again !

Those are very good scopes, IME. I have a couple of them and have compared them carefully to some quality rimfire scopes including the Leupold VX-2 3-9x33 EFR, Weaver RV-9, Clearidge Ultra RM 3-9x32, and others. NONE of the preceding scopes are as good as the Burris Timberline. Unfortunately, it looks like the Timberline has been discontinued.

Recently I've come to be in possession of a CZ 457 Premium 22 LR bolt action . Although it is a production line rifle it is a ( IMHO ) , finely balanced , smooth in operation , and well finished . My frustration is selecting a " correct " scope . I'm looking for a weight that fits the size of the gun for target shooting , plinking and small game . Recommendations ? Comments ?

I just put a 3x12 vortex on the same rifle yesterday haven't tried it yet removed the Tasco target 4×32 power from it was a little overkill for the 22 so I moved it to a cz527 17 Remington. The vortex was under $200 and is very clear with a no fault guarantee lifetime warranty.

Many thanks for the input . I'm looking at maybe tops 50 yards for targets and plinking . Lots of fun and learning for the kids , I had no idea about Vortex , so thanks for that also . The budget is to be determined .

100 yard rifle easy i use to shoot 100 yards with a model 41 Smith in metallic silhouette competition with a pistol. Loved that game sorry it died out.

Hello, I would like to help you with your choice; I read and studied a lot about different scopes. I think the Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44mm would be perfect for you. I saw it on https://ballachy.com/best-1000-yard-scopes/. It is the lightweight as you wanted, he for 1000 m, so it is ideal for a small game, as you said in your comment. Its rugged aluminum construction withstands a variety of harsh weather conditions, is waterproof, fog-proof, and shockproof. And the optics are excellent. It was a pleasure to give advice, and then it's up to you to decide)

I am about to build a 16" barrel AR in 22LR and am debating whether or not to slap a Primary Arms prism scope on it (Like the ones on my other rifles) or if there are any budget magnified (3x or 4x, maybe 5x or 6x) scopes w/a nice reticle that I should be looking at. By budget I mean sub $150

Budget scopes are a waste of money IMO.

Pay as much for your optics as you do for your rifle. That rule of thumb has never failed me.
This is a budget build that won't get shot all the time. I spend the big $ on the firearms I use a lot/like a lot. Also, not made of $
I'm going to put the BSA Sweet 3x9x40 scope on mine

Some of the scopes on my nine rifles cost as much or a little more than the rifles they are mounted on. Some cost less but still cost me well north of $200.00.

I spend as much as I possibly can on a scope, even on a rimfire rifle. Simmons, BSA, Tasco, I’ve spent time looking through them and other scopes of their ilk. Maybe it’s because my vision without corrective lens isn’t good, possibly there’s a psychological factor too, but those scopes just aren’t as clear to me as scopes costing more than $200.00. They are also harder to get behind for lack of a better term, meaning the eye box and relief are very narrow.

I like low power optics on 22s. No more than 4x in my opinion. I've got a vintage Hy Score 2.75x on my TCR 22, works great
I am the opposite. My most expensive and high power scopes go to my 22lr. I love shooting groups at 200, now for hunting different matter 2x-7x is great.

I have a Swampfox Tomahawk 1-4 LPVO scope on my 16" AR22 and am really liking it. I haven't shot much pst 100 yards with it yet but I didn't go with a LPVO for long distance shooting either. I took my Primary Arms 4-14x50 MIL-DOT scope off one of AR15s to replace it with a Swampfox Arrowhead 1-8 LPVO and the PA scope went on my Savage MkII that is setup for precision shooting. The PA scope replaced a Nikon Prostaff 150 BDC scope on the Savage MkII. I'll probably mount eh Nikon 150 BDC on my Marlin Model 70 that I use for hunting.

As you can see I have different scopes for different purposes on my 22lr rifles.

I just purchased a Bushnell AR Optics 3-9x40 for my 10-22. I haven’t done more than range time with it yet but so far I am well pleased.
I like the side parallax adjustment and I love that the “Drop Zone Reticle” is calibrated for .23lr 40gr @ 1200fps with points at 75, 100 and 125 yards.
I also like the RTZ turrets, though I need to bone up on my DOPE.
We’ll see how it does on squirrel this weekend.
The only downside is that it says “AR” on it.

Primary Arms has a 6x with an ACSS reticle for 22 for $119
