Ring height for 44mm objective

With Leupold rings and bases, what's the best height for a 44mm objective lens scope? Will low fit?

Depends on the diameter of the receiver and the taper of the barrel. I stayed with the low rings and bases on my Wby Mark V when I went from a Leupold 40mm to a Simmons 44 Mag. No problem.

And, it depends somewhat on the scope. Some are "fat" up front, compared to the sleeker Leupold.

Still, four millimeters in lens diameter is only two millimeters in radius, or eighty one-thousandths of an inch. 0.080".

Thanks, last rifle the store pushed mediums, I think because they didn't want to open a package of low's that might not fit.
