RC was the first member on this forum that I actually took note of. 2 main reasons is because he would always leave a response to MY noob questions, and because he seemed so knowledgeable. I noticed he would have an answer on almost every thread I read.
I got to where I would always look for his input on all the reloading threads I was interested in.
He seemed like a genuinely nice guy who really wanted to help people along.
I'm really saddened by this news and my heart goes out to his family and those that knew him.

I'll stop looking for your posts now RC. Thank you so much for all the advice you've given me and the rest of THR!

I always enjoyed reading the posts by RC and I knew I was getting some good information. As was said above, he was the first person on this forum that got my attention and I recognized immediately that he was a solid contributor. May the wind blow in his face and the coyotes howl in his ears as he looks down on us from above.

Moparnut and it didn't matter what that question was. Guns , knives , weird trivia. I even saw him make a southpark joke once.

Mr. Ballard joined THR one week after I did, later I found that his birthday and mine are only a couple days apart. Like so many others here, I contacted him for one-on-one advice. So for whatever it was worth, I always felt some kinship with him, although I'm more than happy to admit that he was light-years ahead of me in just about all manner of experience and wisdom. He truly was a genius and THR and KTOG are feeling the loss.

For the rest of my life, I'll be looking up his posts to get the reloading, gunsmithing, knife craft, and general tinkering knowledge that' I'm certainly going to need.

I can't add anything more than what's been said already, so I'll just include a post of his that I find memorable. When I think of Mr. Ballard, this picture is what comes to mind...

That is horrible news. As has been stated he had nearly unending information and generally seemed like a nice guy. It's funny I never met him in person but it feels like I knew him anyways. I knew he was taking care of his wife, I hope she will be well (as can be expected in her condition) in her new setting.

Like others before me have said, RC was such a wealth of information. The way he could clearly communicate his sometimes complex answers really helped to cement him (in my mind at least) as one of the truly great resources on THR.

My condolences to his family and loved ones.

If RC said it, it was true. Not sure what to say.

He took the time to answer a LOT of my stupid questions. We even went into discussion on a few of them. Seemed like a great guy.
    He will be missed here.
My best wishes to his family.

Sad news about RC, but in reading Bull's post what really comes through is the honor that RC lived his life with. A man to be admired and emulated. The world is a lessor place with the loss of such people. Godspeed good sir!

I learned so much from him. We will always use his posts a a reference as they are timeless to the reloading community. I used to want to comment on some "questionable" questions or posts but knew he would always have a better answer. lol

I have more respect for him than anyone else that I have ever communicated with, in regards to firearms......and he was a damn fine human being as well. If he gave an answer to a question, I knew I need not look any further.

    I will miss him greatly...

    Very Sad News.

One constant with THR has been RC. His wisdom has been invaluable to me and so many others. I for one will miss his helpful reply's to all types of questions.
There should be a special subforum/repository just for RC's Wisdom.

RIP and condolences to his family!
