Very, very sorry to hear this. RIP. I will miss him greatly.
I don't sign in here often anymore, so I didn't expect to see this. RIP RC! I always enjoyed RC's posts. They always read knowledgeable yet not demeaning.
I quoted the whole post just to make sure it gets seen by people coming to this thread late.
Gun forums aren't supposed to make you cry, but it's hard not to tear up a bit after reading this.
R.I.P. my friend. When I started reloading you were the first to respond.
I was not aware of this until today.
I am so very sorry to hear this.
I don't think I can add to the very accurate posts up to this point.
I would like to say that he was extremely helpful to me as well as anyone else that posted.
SOLID and PREDICTABLE kinda sums things up.
Those are valued characteristics in my book.
I would bet that anyone that knew him on a personal level did not have to wonder what they were getting when it came to interacting with him.
I think if he promised me that if I stood naked on my roof waving a dead cat would solve my problem, I just might have done it.
I know I would have had the ladder out.....
Rest In Piece.
I hope his family can see how much he was regarded.
I will miss him. Always polite and responded promptly to anyone in need of help.
Rest in peace

I'll miss all aspects of his knowledgeable contributions to our sport. He was hard to stump and just as hard to impress. It was a pleasure and an honor to have known him.
He will certainly be missed. Condolences to his family.
R.I.P. enjoyed reading his post as they were all most all ways filled with wisdom.
This forum will definitely have a void without RC.
Everyone has said what can be said, rest in peace RC. You will be missed.
I've been away a while, but definitely remember him.
I guess the unknown that lies ahead of us will be a better place for our future appearance.
rcmodel : What a "Model" for THR !
I've had internet problems for several days, and this, sadly, is the first I heard of it.
No matter what the problem, if it was about guns, knives, holsters, machining, or whatever, rcmodel was RCMODEL, in my book. From Bondo custom made pistol grips, to crowning a shortened shotgun barrel, rc kindly shared his experience and often, just plain old common sense. He seemed to know EVERYTHING!
His "this world" presence will be missed by more than his family.
Very sorry to hear about the passing of RC Model. I will remember his posts very fondly. I'm certainly no gun expert, but I always figured that if my posts passed the scrutiny of RC Model, they must be pretty close to the mark. Close enough for me, anyway. He was never shy to set the record straight if somebody wasn't giving accurate information on the forum. HE seemed devoted to keeping the forum honest.
Now I find out he was a very devoted husband, too. That doesn't surprise me. We will miss you, RC Model. Rest in Peace.
Very sad news. I've been away from the forum for a few years and come back to see this. He was not only very knowledgeable but a class act as well.
RIP RC great man and answer man.
RC's wit and knowledge were so tremendous; I'm just a lurker on this site I but his loss is devastating. Rest in peace, sir.
I didn't know him. But. "It's not goodbye, it's see you later" God speed mate,
RiP until we all meet again at the soldiers banquet table one day..so a toast
"Ladies and Gentlemen. To Richard Ballard".
The one sadness for us all is that we never hear the utterance of our name here until we pass. Though out the years I've known some amazing men here and heard the life stories of sacrifice and service, and almost have amazed me. The power of words can be powerful, but no more so than the man behind the words..
We had some fun discussions about his THR namesake, RC Models.. We reminisced about the good ole days when you actually had to build the model you flew.
I'm so sorry to hear this. He was an inspiration. I had little interaction with him, but enjoyed his wisdom and whit many times.
I just read the whole thread and decided I really didn't have anything to add to whatever has already been said about RC. But I will attest to the fact that he was one of the good guys and a huge asset to this forum who will be sorely missed. I think the PM he sent to Trent prior to going on the ventilator was one of the most touching autobiographical obituaries I have ever read from someone who was likely facing the end. It is worth repeating.
Peacful journey my friend
May God bless you and your family for this tragic loss. What a Perfect Gentle man.
You will be truly missed BUDDY.
I somehow missed the news of RCModel's passing as I don't frequent the forum as much as I used to. I am indeed saddened to hear of this and wish to extend my condolences to his family. He will be missed around here.
I just heard of RCs passing. I only knew him through this forum, but I felt as if I had known him forever. He was just that kind of guy. It breaks my heart he is gone!
My prayers are with his family and his friends because I know their hearts are aching also.
RIP RC, we will miss you dearly.
