Anyone know who sells them new for less than a $1000 ? Seems to be a pretty good set up but rear sight is nondetachable. THe chromemoly 1:9 twist barrel is a good one.

Huh. I guess you'd call that an A2.5 upper? I guess somebody mixed up parts for the A2 and A3/4 forging dies.....

Seems kinda silly. I'd rather have one or the other, not a rifle with the worst of both worlds.

^ Amen, if I wanted something with sights that could not be changed out, and that couldn't easily mount a scope, I'd just go with an A2.

I'd pay the $40 extra for the chrome-lined barrel! AAMOF, I'd get this one, in the A4 version, for $849. They're out-of-stock now, but I'd get on the e-mail notification list.
