I've got a .357 in Blue and a 44 Mag in SS. One thing most people don't know is they are drilled and tapped for a rail. It is under the rear sight. I put handgun Red Dot Tubes on one and a long relief scope on the other just to check out accuracy with several different rounds. Left the Red Dot on the 44 Mag for Hog Hunting and the .357 I just shoot it with the iron sights. Feeds both magnum and .38 specials without a hitch and both are pretty darn accurate. A lot of gun for the money

Sounds like our 44's are pretty similar:

I have a 20" 357. The action was crisp and ejected brass into orbit. It was easily remedied. I also removed the rear sight and settled on a Williams foolproof sight for the rear.
It now shoots as well as it did with a low power scope without the bulk.

I have a 16inch .357/.38 with large loop and love it. Got it new about 5 years ago and is one if not the most enjoyable gun I own.

I had an old old old "Puma".

Put about 30 rounds through it when the bolt cracked. Took years to get it fixed.

Soured me on Rossi rifles (though I love their revolvers).
