I remember when the Roundtable was here. It was pretty much a forum to discuss anything non-gun, whether significant or silly. But it was discontinued for being superfluous (or so I thought).

Yet more and more threads (like this one) are being started in General Gun Discussions which have nothing to do with guns and really have no business on THR. Threads such as labels that hurt our itty bitty feewings; or threads about the latest movie; or threads about music.

The mods need to either close these irrelevant threads or we need to revive the Roundtable section.

Darn you. That wasn't a very nice trick. I thought I'd be able to stop jumping between windows. I thought we'd actually get some lively discussions going again. I like APS, but it doesn't seem to have the membership the Roundtable had. :(

Eh.

The Roundtable caused problems. It had to go or we would have had a moderator mutiny (though I greatly enjoyed it as well).

I'm sorry you don't like some of the threads currently running, like those discussing the recent SC decisions on property rights and medical marijuana, but as far as I'm concerned these are centrally relevant to any discussion of "rights," especially "unpopular rights" like gun ownership.

I'm certainly not going to close them. The mod responsible for that section is welcome to, but I believe these are some of the most critical discussions we've ever had on this board...

How about a dedicated moderator for Roundtable only

How about a dedicated moderator for the Roundtable only? They would have to be dedicated!

All they have to do is the one forum, no other duties.

Make it sound simple, don't I?

But it would be nice to be able to discuss some things that affect us all, but that are not firearms related.

My $0.02 YMMV
