I have a beautiful Ruger #1 in 7STW that it appears that I will have to start reloading for, any help or advice for this combination would be greatly appreciated.

Heck any tips on loading the STW would be greatly appreciated,

Wish I still had Layne Simpson's email address. He designed it.

R22, H1000. H4831 won't win velocity contests, but it's a good powder.

Clean all the Copper out of the bore, even if it uses up $3 in brushes, 20 patches, 1/2 hour of work, and 2 hours of waiting.

Be prepared to clean the Copper out again after ever 10 shots.

140 gr Nos Bal Tip H4350 3.625", start at 70 gr and work up, I would guess threshold of long brass life is above 75 gr.

Get a swivel bi pod.
Get a little rectangular 10 ounce rear bag to hang on the sling.
Get a scope with an elevation knob.
Get a range finder
Get a wind meter.
Make a chart for elevation and windage vs distance with software
Put a large grind to fit Limbsaver recoil pad on and do not grind.
Put on a cheek rest / ammo bandoleer.
Get a chest harness for binoculars.
Put the range finder, GPS, and wind meter on lanyards.

Practice dry firing at the target until the cross hairs stay on the bullseye.
Practice shooting at 100, 200,300, 400, 500, and 600 yards from your belly.
Get your feet spread out.
Modify chart per what you learn.
Learn your max sure kill range vs what wind you have.

I shot 3 deer in 2010 with a Ruger #1 in 7mmRemMag. The guys say it sounds like a machine guns when I shot a moving deer at 400 yards.
