I have a Ruger 77/44 that I like. Actually, it is my second. My first one was stolen.

That said, I have always been annoyed by the magazine capacity. Tonight while randomly googling stuff I came across a 10 round magazine and magazine release by I.Q. Munition.

Has anyone tried, or even seen one of these?

I am looking at this from the point of view of a plinker and a, legal anywhere, defensive rifle.

It is a bit expensive for a magazine. . . Ok, it is quite expensive for a magazine. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I need to check the OAL of my reloads this weekend. :D

Seriously now. This looks promicing. For a somewhat obscure gun, the price isn't horrendous. You're not gonna need 47 of them like you do an AR.

Probably won't use it in my Silent Destroyer, since I usually load through the top without removing the magazine. My unsuppressed 77/44 I could see this being very useful.

I am glad people are making these magazines. I don’t even have a 77/44. (Yes I want one). That being said the cost for me would stop me. I would rather have 4 factory mags than one of these. Ruger guns don’t like aftermarket mags in general. This may be an exception. Let us know if you get one. I found this photo. Looks cool upload_2020-12-3_20-54-38.jpeg

I am curious as well. I signed up for the .357 mag version that is in development. If I have some extra change when it comes out, I will probably get it. I would like to hear from someone with first hand experience though....

That is certainly true of semi-auto Rugers... every single aftermarket mag I’ve ever tried with a variety of Ruger rifles has been a mostly futile experience... be the gun a rimfire or a centerfire.
Since this is for their bolt gun it may ride without a hitch.
Neat idea.
Stay safe.

if they can get the price down, and it would pair with the 99/44 deerfield (the underwhelming mini-14 in 44mag) they should market it to hog hunters. 10 rounds of 44mag in a semi-auto with a suppressor gives me the good kind of chills. I mean, sure you could get an ar in 450 bushmaster or 458 socom or something for basically the same effect, but 10 rounds, straightwall, non-threatening appearance rifle, I like it.

As intriguing as this is, I have to imagine it would throw the balance of the gun off quite a bit. The cost is a little ugly but I know I've spent more for less product.

I suppose the question to me would be how many times I had previously ran out of ammunition hunting and if it would have been worth $140 for 6 more rounds.

I'm impressed that the magazine isn't more curved with a somewhat stubby rimmed cartridge like the 44M!

It's certainly a cool concept, but I'll admit to being a bit fuddy on this one -- I like the flush-fit factory profile much better on my iron-sighted 77/44, and despite the smooth action and short throw, a bolt gun wouldn't be my first choice for the zombie apocalypse.

That may not stop me from buying one of these magazines someday, however ...

We have another thread going on about it here:

The main goal of this mag is not hunting, as most states limit the amount of rounds in a gun to 5 or less. Its just for fun. And lets be honest, some cool factor.

$140 is not that bad given the quality of the magazine, being cnc milled. Ive seen mags for many other guns rivaling or surpassing the 140 mark.

It is compatible with the deerfield. Ill test mine in both the DF and a 96/44.

Makes the DF look like a M1 carbine, magnum. Imo, the only downfall of the DF was the four round limit.
