Ruger American 6.5

Anyone have any experience with the Ruger American? Particularly the predator series in 6.5 cm. I'm strongly considering adding one to my collection but didn't want to spend money on something I wouldn't enjoy.

I don't have any personal experience, but I've been following this gun on a variety of forums and YouTube and it never fails to get rave reviews. If I was looking for a 6.5 on budget, this is the rifle I would certainly choose. I would think it would be enjoyable. I read somewhere that the American is same action that the Ruger Precision Rifle uses, though I have no way to confirm that, purely speculation on my part. But for the price, it's hard to beat!

They are the same action. The RAR came out first so actually the Precision uses the same action as the American.

I have an american and really like it, mines a ranch in .300 but basic action is the same. I wouldn't feel any qualms about adding one in 6.5 to my limited stable....that said i just ordered a howa 1500 in 6.5. mostly because i wanted to try the howa as compared to the other "budget" boltys, of which i have the savage 10, ruger american, 700adl, and now the howa. I have access to a t3 and an axis, so i may get them all together to mess with.

I have a Predator in 308 and a Compact in 223. Both have exceeded my expectations and I like them a lot. I have nicer finished rifles and bought these as knock around guns but both shoot every bit as well as rifles I have 3X a much money invested in. My brother has the 6.5 and I'll eventually get one.
