Ruger Carbine

I love mine. Accurate and dependable. Bought a ton of Glock hicap mags for it. It's my favorite rifle. Put a Sig Romeo red dot on it. Thinking about putting a regular scope. It's a blast to shoot. Might get a second one.

Mine has been fantastic and well worth the money. IIRC my serial number is in the 7000 range and it has yet to experience a problem other than underpowered ammo in 1500-2000 rounds.

Keep in mind that the Magpul mags are cheaper than the glocks and I have never had a single problem with them.

I have had no issues with mine. Shoots the cheap Federal Champion 115 grain aluminum case ammo fine. I use Glock and Magpul magazines. I just put the Midwest Industries M-LOK hand guard on mine.

I have the older first generation PC 9.
Love it, and it is My go to HD and plinking rifle.
The older ones take any P series Mags.
Surprisingly a pro mag 30 founder works great.

I almost forgot about one big problem with my carbine. The forend heats up really quick. I am hoping to rectify that issue with the Midwest Industries handguard (since Ruger came out with their handguard after I bought mine and won't sell me one as a separate item).

Bought on early in the year and have about 1k rounds through it. Also bought some Korean (KCI) big sticks that would sometimes not feed right. Replaced the mag springs w/Wolff springs and they are now 100%

Fun gun!

I've not been as lucky with my PCC, I get stovepipe jams with three different factory loads:

American Eagle 147gr
WWB 124gr
Geco 124gr

Using a variety of gen 3-4 Glock mags, it jams enough that getting through a whole mag is 50/50. I talked to Ruger about the PCC when I called about another of their rifles I was having problems with. They sent me a new ejector, extractor and extractor spring to try, didn't make any difference, so I guess this rifle will have to make the trip back as well. They did fix the other rifle I sent back to them, but having to send new rifles back to them for basic function problems is getting old.

I love my PC Carbine. It has become my favorite long gun (even more than my Cowboy Action long guns)

I installed an Odin Works “Atlas 9” comp on it and it’s even quicker back on target. I am thinking of putting a Sig Sauer “Romeo 5” red dot sight on it as well. I have one on my AR and like that sight very much.

Another "thumbs up" from here as well. Got one in July 2018 and love it. Honestly don't have any complaints about it. I've seen it described as a "10/22 on steroids" and that's a good analogy IMHO. Had a Bushnell holographic sight sitting here that hasn't been used in 10 years so I put it on and it's even more fun than the excellent iron sights the gun came with. Have shot it all the way out to an honest 93 yards ringing steel at a friends place and it hits consistently; although that 9mm pistol bullet must really be running out of energy at that range. But it's a blast. Here it is when my buddy was ringing the steel at 93 yards. IMG_7200.JPG

I have heard nothing from good things about the PC. I will buy on, but I am hoping they release one in 10mm (Hint hint... Ruger!!)

Don't hold your breath on that one.

I had a conversation with someone in middle management at Ruger. To put the .45 ACP and/or 10mm into the carbine would require a completely new carbine. The receiver and mag well of the current Ruger PCC isn't large enough. So far the bean counters at Ruger don't see the demand for the .45 ACP/10mm.

I'm sure they look at sales of their handguns. 9mm is outselling .45 ACP by a very wide margin and .45 ACP is outselling 10mm by an even wider margin.

I'd be on a Ruger PCC in .45 ACP like white on rice, but if something else comes along in that same price range that uses Glock mags I'll buy it.

Like Texas 10mm I be all over a 45 model.

I shot a Hi-point carbine in 45 and was surprised as to how good it shot for the money, but the lack of larger capacity mags was a real deal breaker.

I'd be all over a 40/10mm(maybe?) or a .45 ACP with the quickness. I can understand the bean counting, but Ruger should really realize their customers ability to rationalize a purchase. I mean all these .45 ACP rounds aren't going to shoot themselves. As to bikerdoc, I had a Hi-Point carbine in 9mm. Tons of fun, reliable no real issues. Never could get over the (relatively) low capacity magazines and the analogy of a large woman and a moped. :D

Have 2 here---one is set up for the SR9 17 rounders since I have 6 or 7 of them and the other takes the Glock sticks----both have been 100%. I use a low powered Leupold scope on one and just the iron sights on the other---so far

I have a bushnell red dot on mine. Possibly the most fun rifle to shoot I own. I am surprised someone hasn't made mag adapters for other sidearms. Mine has the Glock one in it.

I asked this question some time ago. Has anyone found a "reasonable price" for a flash hider for this carbine?? I found one or two but they were stupid priced. Just a simple flash hider like for ARs. Mine has the threaded barrel.
No, I don't need one but it's a cool "tactical" thing.:)
