Since I always end up with the post range time cleaning chores, I noticed this particular SS GP100 is always 2-3 times as gunpowder-residue dirty as any of the other guns we shoot, including another GP100 and several SP101 guns.
They are all firing the same Eagle bulk .38 special ammo with some occasional .357 magnum rounds loaded up. Round count is usually the same or close for all the guns.
Most of the discoloration shows up in the fluted areas of the chamber near the barrel, and the area where the chamber interfaces to the barrel (forcing cone?).
All these guns are quite new, less than 500 rounds, and meticulously maintained. The problem gun has been like this from birth.
It just seems odd to me that this one revolver is like the kid who can't find his mouth with a fork at the spaghetti feed.
Any thoughts?
