Ruger LC9S-PRO

Well friends, I had been eyeing the S&W Shield 9mm for about a year as my carry gun. Thursday the 17th I went to a local gunshop/range to finally buy the shield, due to a sizable christmas bonus check from work. The place was packed at 5:20 pm. I said I was there to buy the shield in 9mm and they guy frowned and informed me they had sold out 3 days ago.... I was at the same shop last Friday and they had 5.:banghead:

So, being the impulsive person I am, I had to walk out with a small carry 9mm so help me god! Since I had been eyeing the LC9s and the XDS9 for about the same length of time, I had to make a decision. Long story short, I went with the LC9S pro. The range was packed so I didn't get to shoot it that night. Today, I was able to test it out before Early Christmas with the inlaws.

This little gun has an awesome trigger and is so easy to control. I was hitting a fence post at about 18 yrds with little problem. My father inlaw was impressed how accurate this gun is. He is no longer allowed to participate in the annual Fall-Fest shotgun trap shoot, since he never misses his target. So that's saying a lot.

Other than bragging about my new acquisition, I want to know what you guys think about this gun. Praises, gripes, love, hate? Do you carry it? Did you stop carrying it, and why? I will get the shield one day, that is for sure. But, for now, let's target the Ruger LC9s-PRO. Thanks for your input.

Love mine. I can shoot it as accurately as my CZs at 10 yards. I can't say the same for my original LC9. I do not carry mine for no other reason than I'm happy carrying my CZ 75D PCR. I expect I will carry it if I ever felt the need to carry something smaller.

SS and I must drink the same coolaid. Just picked up an LC9S Pro thinking it might be an affordable option for some of my students. Absolutely love the trigger, the shape and finish for carry and shooting, and am so glad they got rid of the lawyerly features on the LC9S and think the pro is just about perfect as a CCW. (Sold my SIG P938!) And yes, the little Ruger is about as accurate as my CZs.

I rented a Shield at the range once; awful trigger. Asked the range owner, and he said their triggers are hit-or-miss.
Now have the LC9sPro. What a wonderful semi-auto. Especially compared to the LC9. Only complaint: ejects the fired cases everywhere, which concerns we reloaders.
Don't expect my Pro to be my range/target gun, but for CCW, can't be beat.
Another plus: cost about $349 at my LGS, which is less than half of a Kimber Pro. The Kimber is also a "queen", requiring specific ammo. The LC9sPro shoots anything.

I had some Christmas cash to spend, so I bought an LC9s Pro. I have 2 original LC9 pistols, so the ability to use all the accessories was a selling point. The LC9s Pro is a great pistol. Shockingly accurate, and feels great in my hand. I swabbed the barrel, and shot 360 rounds the first trip with it. It functioned perfectly. A lady next to me at the range, who was shooting lousy groups with her H&K 40, asked to shoot my LC9s Pro. She shot much better with the Ruger.

I enjoyed my time with my new LC9s Pro so much, I didn't notice I was digging a hole into the top of my thumb. Its still sore 2 weeks later, but I will survive.

My LC9s Pro... great little single stack 9mm.

I love mine and it is my summer carry gun. However I only carry it IWB it isn't one I would pocket carry due to the lack of safety. It shot's like a dream and is very accurate considering how small it is. I have put about 500 rounds thru it and I don't see it ever leaving.

When I pocket carried my original LC9 I used to flip off the safety once it was in my pocket. If you have a good pocket holster there should be no issue pocket carrying the pro model.

I have owned the Shield, Nano, Kel Tec PF9 and I purchased the LC9s Pro and it is the best of all of them. I sold off the Shield and the Nano and bought another LC9 an older one brand new at a great price. I love these guns, both shoot excellent plus being a 9mm they are no problem at all. Ruger has an excellent customer service, so you can never go wrong. My main carry pistols are the LC9s pro, LC9 and my new RM380 which is another awesome handgun.
You won't be disappointed with the LC9s they are that good.

Mine has served as an excellent little carry gun. Just big enough to hold onto and small enough to carry very comfortably. The trigger is excellent. I do however take special care and do not holster with one chambered. It just seams far to easy to snag the trigger. My only suggestion would be to put it on in its' holster with one chambered and avoid un-holstering and holstering when chambered. Also avoid pushing it into pockets when chambered. Just a simple practice in safety. I haven't heard of on discharging while being holstered but many similar striker fired pistols have.

I've had my LC9s Pro almost a year and after quite a few range trips, it has become a carry pistol. Great trigger and much more accurate than one would expect.

I was looking for a Kahr CM9 and couldn't find one. I bought a LC9s Pro instead. I am vary happy I did. Great gun with a great trigger.

I don't know about the "pro" model but I've got two of the regular LC9s's that I got just before Christmas.

I'm a Smith & Wesson revolver guy, but it didn't take but one trip to the range to convince me that I shoot these guns a LOT better than I ever did a small J frame sized revolver. Best trigger I've ever used on a production gun. They shoot any ammo I've given them, which has all been my reloads, both FMJ and HP. They fit my hand well, and I was surprised they are as comfortable to shoot as they are. I had a Kel-Tec, P-11, 9mm several years ago and that thing would make my arm and wrist tingle after about 50 rounds or so. Not so with the Ruger, even with it's thinner single stack grip.

I think Ruger got this one right.

My timing stinks. I bought my LC9s about two months before the Pro was announced.

Great shooter. Went back to Ruger to fix the magazine release, absolutely no issues since. First time my step daughter shot it she shot at inch group at 10 yards.
