I have a brand new Ruger LCP II, and noticed when I disassembled after my first range trip of about 100 rounds that both the inner and outer recoil springs had a slight bend to them, located about 1/3 of the way from the front end. I chalked it up to a spring issue (bad heat treat or something), and ordered a set of Wolff springs to replace them. After 50 rounds on the Wolff springs, they are bent exactly the same way (see photo below). The gun has been 100% reliable so far, and I’m not necessarily concerned about it considering the function of the guide rod and the gun’s reliability thus far, but I do find it odd since I’ve never seen this on any other gun, including my original Ruger LCP, and am curious on what is causing it.

Any ideas?

I just looked at mine. It has less than 200 rounds through it and the springs look the same as yours do. After reading the Ruger forum, It seems to be a normal occurrence with the LCP II. Probably taking a set when binding under recoil so as long as the gun functions properly I wouldn't be too concerned.

I just checked mine and after 500 rounds, mine is similar to yours. I have no function problems.
If it concerns you, contact Ruger and send them your pic.

I found the springs on the LCP II to be finicky. I tried replacing them with heavier Wolff Springs, and I got some feeding issues. Replacing them with the stock ones fixed that. Maybe the size of the gun just requires a very specific weight to function and that weight causes the springs to take a slight set.

My LCP II has been flawless since switched back to stock springs even if they are a little crooked. The only modification I kept was the stainless guide rod.
