Just Purchased a Mark II mod. 00136 8" bull barrel target pistol fitted with a Leupold 2.5-8 scope. It came with the adjustable rear sight, three mags, and matching serial numbered box. It has a 2 lb. trigger pull with a small amount of creep, but feels quite crisp. The barrel is engraved " Great Eight " which I am unfamiliar with. It has a couple of small dings on the finish that I suspect were caused trying to disassemble, or assemble the pistol. When I purchased the gun it wouldn't cycle, but reassembling the hammer and bolt fixed that. I would guess it has less than a box of rounds through it and I'm anxious to get to the range today and see what I can do with it. Anyone know what the "Great Eight" designation is all about?

Maybe the "Great eight" name alludes to the 8" bull barrel?

My Mark III was available with several different lengths, but I think longest was just shy of 7", so an 8" barrel sounds like it would be some sort of special model.
