Ruger Mini 14 196 Series

Hello all,

Can anyone give some input on a Mini 14 196 series? A local guy has a used one for sale with 1000 rounds shot through it. Are they reliable and what would be a fair price? I am basically looking for a cheap .223 semi. Thanks for any help!

What kinda shape is it in?
196 series I think is the same as the 180s
Over there at this time (Obama on the way)you probably have to pay around $450 or so,I dunno what guns are going for over there,but that seems about right for what you are describing.
If you HAVE to have it maybe $550.
(I don't need one so about $400 would be top dollar for me)
Someone who knows more than me will tell ya something else

probably the most reliable semi out there. they will keep shooting even if neglected. prices vary from region to region but if it is a ranch model in good shape i'd say $350.00 to $450.00 would be fair.
