I thought in would be interesting to see how many THR Members are fans of the Ruger P90. I have a KP90DC and love it.

I used to have one and liked the way it shot but I just could not get used to the grip. I found someone with a S&W model 19 that wanted it so we swapped.

My absolute favorite autoloader, though my MkII I just got is pushing it for plinker fun. I'm mostly a revolver guy, but this P90 is revolver accurate and revolver reliable. I bought it right after they came out. It's never bobbled and won enough money to more than pay for itself at local shoots. It even carries pretty well in a Sparks Summer Special with a baggy shirt over it, quite a bit lighter than an all steel 1911 and a much tougher gun.

I have Hogues on my P guns and they fit me like a glove.

P90 Fan

I have a stainless P90 with extra mags that I carry. My first P90 was stolen. It had a set of Pachmyr grips that were great! The Ruger is my favorite DA auto 45.

Hve the SS version w/safety, the KP-90. Only change from factory is the addition of the Hogue finger-groove grips.

Have replaced the recoil spring, with a new factory one.

I'm using a 16 lb 1911 spring in mine and it works great. The spring it came with was a bit limp for my liking. The 1911 spring is a little long, preloads, works fantastic with standard pressure to +P stuff. I had all these 1911 Wilson springs, so I just experimented.

I have a blued P-90DC. It's the softest shooting .45 ACP semiauto I've fired, super-reliable, and very accurate. It's a very underrated gun, IMO.

the p90 was my first major caliber handguns so there is a soft spot in my heart for it. i really dont get to shoot it much anymore but it is a tank of a piece that is as reliable a brittney spears showing some panties.

First handgun I bought, and I still own it to this day. In fact, it is the very gun that is in my nightstand. I haven't owned another .45 that is as reliable as it is.

I find that out of all my guns I LOVE my P90th. It was my first (handgun) purchase and I quickly found that no only does it fit my bear hands very well but I can hit anything with it up to 50 yrds depending on the quality of my ammo.

I have since purchased several other guns but I still keep my P90 as my primary weapon and its the one I have next to my head while I sleep.

Rugers did it right with this handgun!

It's a very underrated gun, IMO.

ALL of the P-Series guns are that way, IMO.
Rock solid reliable-I've never seen any failures with the many I've dealt with over the last 15 years.

I got one with some light rust on the slide, a two tome davidsons special, a P90t for $230 in the box 2 years ago. It's not my favorite gun in the world but it's very serviceable. My dad has a P97 he got for $280NIB two years ago also.

I don't find them quite as accurate as a Sig Sauer or a 1911 but I don't expect them to be.

I will match accuracy of mine with ANY 1911, hang the cost, perhaps a little less out of a ransom rest than a highly tuned bullseye match 1911, but hey, I can't shoot much better than my P90 does, see 25 yard targets above. I won yet ANOTHER pepper popper match at a local range yesterday to reaffirm my faith in the gun's accuracy. Beat all comers and their 1911s in the process. I think why I'm in such a zen with this gun is I've shot so many action matches with it. It just works for me. Sigs cost twice as much and are no more accurate, at least than MY P90, and no more reliable. I do like the location of the decocker on the Sig, though. I like Sigs, just don't thing they shoot any better, not in my experience. The best 1911 I owned shot 2" groups at 25 with the best ammo. My P90 betters that by a bit. Those above targets are 1" grid targets and typical of what the gun will do. The left one is shot with 200 grain Speer hollow points and the right one is shot with a cast 200 grain SWC.

The only P90's that Ruger is showing now are the exclusives. Looks like production is about to shut down on them.

I guess if I want one, I'll have to get on board and get one soon.

Of course if production is going to end, does that mean we may see an SR45 soon.

I was actually wondering if the P345 may go away sooner than the P90. Locally, I often see new P345's discounted well below $500 (low $400's) while the P90 remains consistently above $500 (though not much above).
