I'm not unhappy with customer service coming through in the end either. Way to go Ruger.

That's great to hear. IMHO, Ruger has the best customer of all the manufacturers.

That is subjective to personal experience. Now the P 89 and 95 are well designed and durable weapons and never got a good run because Glock eclipsed them and captured their market share before they got off the ground, They are a great gun for the money.

Shot one a couple times. Heavy and wide. But accurate and reliable. A good budget gun.

I like mine

I picked up a P95 a few months back, I was having the same issue with the FTEs at first I thought it was ammo and bought a different brand (Winchester White box to PMC) and it kept it up, I took the gun to my local gunsmith and he gave it a little fine tuning and now..............shoots like a dream a good steady gun, not totally crazy for the grip on it but I have tought myself to work with it and I am putting a MOA of .75 at 12.5 and 1" at 25 yards not bad for a 250.00 investment.

As a carry weapon it is a bit bulky I have another for that but for a PDW or a HDW or just a side arm for when I go to the range and shoot my .308 it is great.

As I said for the money you cant go wrong..

On Ruger's Customer Service I have heard both good and bad but I called them at one time (about a month ago) for a the loader and they had it to me in a week.

Good Luck

Mine is excellent. I love the P95. No problems at all. And in my opinion it is just as good as a Glock, Smith or Sig.

I've had my p95 for about 8 years and it is great. Although I have other brands and types of pistols, my p95 is my favorite 9mm. Reliable as hell, 18 rounds with hi cap mag, and a very light SA trigger. She's not the prettiest girl at the dance, but she's light and dependable.

I will concede, though, that I have read more complaints about problems with the P95 on the more recently manufactured ones (new ones from the last 4 or 5 years).

Hmmm...I haven't noticed any increase in complaints on the newer Ruger
P95s. Mine is not even a year old and not one problemo. The changes that were made were completely cosmetic, these are the same guns they were when they first came out for all intents and purposes. I love my Ruger P95 and it DOESN"T look like a brick, is not hard to conceal, IS very aesthetically pleasing...a true champ!...IMHO :neener:

I must have had the anomaly built the same time as oldduffer's. The first 300-400 rounds were fine, then the problems started. It would FTEj often, sometimes every round. Sent it back and they replaced the ejector, got it home, cleaned it up, oiled it up, took it out, first two magazines were fine, the next two were riddled with the same problem - back to Ruger. Got it back, took it out, fired two or three magazines out of it, got it home, cleaned it up, sold it a couple days later. Bought a CZ75B and we've lived happily every after.

Sad thing is I Really liked the P95. People call it bulky and what not, but I would dare say not significantly more than a Glock, if at all, and definitely not as much as an XD. I rather liked the grip, I could conceal it pretty easy without a holster and without printing right at my 3 o'clock. I was pretty accurate with it, keeping a 4"-6" group off-hand at 10 yards firing somewhat quickly.

I've had mine since 1998, never a malfunction. At less than $300 new I consider it the best bargain in a defense pistol on the market, and I've considered buying another just to have.

Good deal in NIB ondition for around $319, even better when you can get them used for under $250 - which is entirely possible.
One complaint with the one I had - I don't like the ambi mag release. It rubs my middle finger during firing and irritates me. If I had one and was planning to keep it, I'd remedy that by taking some steel off the mag release on the right side of the frame.
Otherwise, no complaints and I'd generally trust Ruger customer service to make any issues right.

I've owned several Ruger pistols, the only one I had a problem with was the P89, I hated the trigger. Other than that it was reliable and accurate. I also had a DC 90, and sold both gunsa couple years ago. This year bought a P 345 and P 95. I like both of the guns, although I may not keep them longer that a couple years. I would not hesitate to buy a Ruger handgun.
