Does anybody know where I can get night sights for a Ruger Redhawk 4"? I do a lot of backpacking in grizzly country and often sleep out in the open. I would like to be able to see my sights in the dark/moon light. Am I going to have to go to a gunsmith to get the sights?

Well I have answered my own questions. I took a gamble and bought a front tritium xs sight for Ruger Alaskan .454. I had a gunsmith drill and put it on the gun. It fit perfect I was concerned about the height difference of the new sight and the factory sight. I just shoot it and with a few adjustments with the rear sight it is so accurate. Hope this helps others who own a 4" ruger redhawk.

I use the meprolights on my sp101 as well. Really easy to install.

-Punch out pin for old sights
-Install new sight with lock-tight
-Drill out and install new pin (I used no press, but took my time with a steady hand)

I was nervous drilling at first but it went very smooth and I was done in 10minutes. Just take the grips off and put the stub in a vice.

This is the 4" Redhawk with the side roll pin, right?
As you mention, the sight on the Alaskan sight is not as tall as the one on the .45 Colt 4" Redhawk. Were you able to adjust the rear sight far enough down to compensate for this?
Thanks, I am new to The High Road.
