I believe Ruger offers a SPUR-less hammer version, but not a hammerless one.

I have the Spur-less DAO SP101. I prefer DAO for CCW. I would have bought hammerless if they made one. I like the look of the hammer less guns. In hammerless I have a 650 Taurus and a 442 S&W. I don't see a need for a hammer that can snag on clothes. If you dry fire practice you will learn to "stage the trigger" and this is as accurate as a single action shot. In a Two inch Gun I probably would not take a chance on a head sized target past 35 feet indoors and out doors on a Britte day around 50 or 60 feet. This is saying I had 5 seconds to take aim.

SATX man, as already indicated, the Rugers do have hammers, but a spurless hammer is an option. What information do you need? There are recent active threads here discussing them. Mine work fine, whether there is a spur or not; I have both types. I generally shoot DA only, so I tend to prefer spurless. Of my two SP101s with spurs, one may receive the installation of a spurless hammer I managed to acquire second-hand. My larger Ruger Speed Six also has a factory spurless hammer, though I can actually cock that one, as it is not DAO.

Haywood, your Taurus 650 and S&W 442 have hammers, too. Internal hammers, fully enclosed, but they are indeed hammers.

Here's my SP101 factory spurless hammer

I just got this a couple weeks ago, and have only shot about 20 rounds through it, but here's my $.02...

The trigger pull is very stiff, but pretty smooth. At 7 yards I had a hard time shooting anything that resembled a group (but it is a snub). I did shoot it after my 1911, so I'm sure it would take me a while to adjust to the DA trigger. Turning on my laser seemed to help. At least I could focus on the dot. Also, I tried it in a couple holsters, and it doesn't seem like it would work with a typical strap retention. Not sure though, since it don't carry. The stainless finish is top notch, and it's a solid gun. I shot 38's, and hardly felt the recoil.

I just dropped a spurless hammer, that I had purchased on evilbay several years ago, into a recently-purchased SP101, with a 3-1/16" barrel. I am happy to report my luck; the trigger pull is BETTER than the factory pull, because there was a little hitch in the pull as it came out of the box. The little burr, or whatever, must have been on the original hammer. Now, to try to get to the range to verify function.

I've planned for this longer-snout SP101 to be my geezerhood/retirement town carry gun, though I am not quite ready to retire from policin' just yet. I already have several of the snubbier ones, but wanted one with a 3-1/16" barrel, and had cherry-picked this one, after handling quite a few over time. It is good to get such a smooth trigger with so little effort; I don't think I will need this one to be tuned by a 'smith. (I do have a couple tuned by Jack Weigand, so I know a good SP101 trigger when I handle one.) Life is good today.
