I know light striker firing pin strikes is a problem on many Ruger SR9c's. I guess my next stop with this situation is to take my pistol to a gunsmith unless one of you HighRoaders has figured out the problem. I replaced the plastic guide rod with a stainless steel one from Galloway Precision in hopes that this might solve my light striker problem and it didn't. Next I order the stainless steel striker from Galloway and installed this with the factory striker spring and no, that didn't work either. Next I ordered the heavy (20 percent stronger) striker spring from Galloway thinking that I had finally solved the light strike problem but same problem today at the range? It looks like the striker (or firing pin) isn't protruding far enough out to fully fire the primer? I'm thinking either the firing pin hole needs to be very slightly enlarged or the channel, if you will, that the striker moves forward in needs to have some material removed to enable the firing pin to move out further? Help!!!, I really need it!

Have you tried contacting Ruger?
Yes, the pistol was returned to Ruger and they replaced parts but didn't solve the problem. I'm like many others that I've read about that have returned their SR9c to Ruger who replaced parts but didn't solve the problem either. It's such a strange situation as you can read about SR9c owners that have shot hundreds, if not thousands of rounds, through their pistols with no problems at all.

Hmm, that's unfortunate, and unacceptable I might say. I'd maybe contact them again and explain the situation. I've never had to use it, but I am told that their customer support is pretty good.

I had a full size SR9 for a few years. Actually two different ones at two separate points in time. Both worked wonderfully.

I only remember one hiccup, which was indeed a failure to fire. It was shortly after I began reloading though, like a week or two, so I chalked it up to a mistake on my part. Probably a high primer. Beyond that, thousands of rounds fired without a single complaint.
