I bought this Simmons Prohunter 4x32 handgun scope last year, on sale in some local mall.
It was my first scope, I just wanted to test the concept.

I was never able to sight it but not knowing the first thing about scopes, I wasn't overly concerned. I boxed it for almost a year.

Yesterday, I wanted to give it another try, and realized the elevation adjustment has absolutely no effect. I turned it to the max either way and had the same point of impact.

I noticed this turret seems a little out of its housing, compared to the windage adjustment. It doesn't feel it will get back in using reasonable force to screw it.

It may very well have been so when I unboxed it last year, the very reason it was on sale maybe.

In your opinion, is it ruined or can I try anything to fix it by myself ?

I would contact Simmons. They may be on the cheaper end of scopes, but their CS is pretty good. My dad fell on his rifle while hunting, and the scope took the impact on a rock. He contacted Simmons, told them exactly what happened, and they shipped him a new one

I had a simmons 3-9-40 I purchased for a 22lr and it had the same issue the scope would not adjust for anything!! I would call simmons and see if maybe they would warranty it. The turret does look odd but with having issues with my simmons right out of the box I lost faith in them.

I had a Simmons scope 3x9 that I bought from a friend that was bad. I called Simmons and they sent me a return slip and I had a new one back within 2 weeks. Great service and a lifetime limited warranty.

The elevation “turret” doesn’t look odd to me. It will raise out of the bezel to just above flush, as yours is, and sink to just below flush as you adjust the elevation from one end to the other.

If the elevation does not change with corresponding changes made to the dial, call Bushnell, send it in, they’ll send you a new one. That simple.
