    Well, somebody’s using it.

Come to think of it, I don’t see much of it on the ground at the range. Certainly not 40%. I’ve used it, but now t very much.

It’s a shame that some people think we “love Russia” because we’re not happy over this ammo ban. We know it was done to hurt US gun owners and make some kind of statement to Putin. And it happens four or five days after the biggest debacle of all time in the Middle East. The American people don’t need any extra crap to shovel but some how the pile keeps getting bigger thanks to our.......

Once dirt cheap 7.62x54 Mosin Nagant and the 8mm turk Mauser may now be poormans survival rifles. Ammo for each were well under a dime not long ago. Russian steel case MN and Turk Mauser ammo was still like .60rd last week. We will see on Mon. The real weapon of the left may be panic and inflation

Doesn't affect me all that much, never was a fan of Russian ammo and would rather give my bucks to the U.S. manufacturers.

Russia was laughing at the AK/SKS/Mosin aficionados in the US. Supply them with ammo if they have to have it, they said. We don't buy Russian cars or aircraft, do we?

Oh, I think it happened. Say goodbye to your favorite steel case 7.62 x 39. You can't sell something you don't have. Bump stocks disappeared, just like that.

You say that like you know that as fact . I am calling BS until you can back that statement up with actual proof .

Have a little faith in capitalism, everyone. Please. Think about this logically. From an entrepreneurial standpoint, this ban is a boon for every ammo producer already in good standing with the US State Department .

Social unrest and Pandemics don't create the sustainable real demand that ammo producers need to see before they increase production capacity.

Eliminating 40-45% of the US ammo supply creates real demand-- sustainable, future demand-- that incentivizes production expansion.

It's gonna suck for a short time. Supplies for loading are still in a bind because of the pandemic and will likely continue because of the Delta surge. But it won't last forever. And capitalism will pick up the slack when it does.

That 40% is the only consistent number I've read on several gun boards. Maybe their figure is only based upon rumor.

I certainly Hope that it is B.S., and is a much smaller percentage than 40, for the sake of those people who weren't able to plan ahead, and the new shooters.

CoalTrain49: the main reason I began storing ammo over several years was due to anticipation that Obama could easily impose a high Tariff on imported ammo, or maybe just on Russian brands.

I'm pretty sure that Russian pipeline that Biden allowed will net Russia far more money than the cheap ammo.

7.62x39 won't go away. It's just going to twice as expensive and made in the good ole USA by Americans. ;)

Without actual proof it's foolish to post one line stating something as fact , that's how rumors start. :)

Rumor or not, this sure is not good news.

It won't be that expensive. When the dust settles we will be paying more-- sadly that's what panics do: inflate prices. But we won't be paying anywhere near that much when the dust settles.

I do believe you have a point. The nations “over there” other than Russian can also be expected to pick up the slack and will probably be willing to gamble on new capabilities because let’s face it, the Russian ammo ban has a very strong chance of being permanent considering the demands being asked to repeal the sanctions.

It will indeed suck for a while. But I’m hoping, one day, I’ll be able to actually plink with my milled Bulgarian AK again.

How many years do you think it will take?
    Serious question.

As i see it, There's been pretty consistent high demand since at least 2008 with only a couple years of supply keeping up with demand just before covid and riots leading to 2 record years of guns sales.

I love my 5.45. Like it more than 5.56.

    I hope not! I love my 5.45’s!

Yep. This was a slap in the face to gun owners! They just left enough tools to outfit a military in AStan and yet want to take away or try to take away your ability to own and shoot small arms here? Who is the real enemy here?

    Guess we will see.

Exactly. This is a big blow and they know it. Just when stuff was starting to show up and be somewhat reasonable again.

Do you not understand agency argot? "Will be subject to a policy of denial" does not equal "are and will be denied". That and of course everything is negotiable. Just another day inside the beltline.

A good friend said he feels we have become and "occupied" country since Jan 2021. I tend to agree.

I was reading that the Russian Ammunition ban will reduce the available ammunition by 40%. Seems high to me. Maybe it's the area I live in but I just don't see that much Russian shot around here. What do you think?
