So I took my 1911 out of the safe today... rust
There were some tiny spots on the side of the gun, not much, but enough to make me concerned. There was also some rust inside the grip where the magazine sits, as well as some on the mag itself.
My knee jerk reaction: scrub it off, and dump a ton of oil all over the gun.
My fault I think... I shot it few weeks ago, and didn't clean it after the range trip... it's just annoying, I shoot 3 to 4 guns every range trip, and cleaning them every time is a pain.
So what can I do? Apply oil all over the gun AFTER I shoot it? After I wipe it down a bit of course.
I'm in South FL and it's humid as h*ll down here. What can I do?
