Couldn't sleep cause the hurricane is bearing down on me last night... went to GB and found a deal I couldn't refuse, one of those BP guns that just POP out and say "IM YOURS" BUY ME"...I did...should have it sometime this week, depending on weather...

I'm pretty certain that beauty was on my watchlist on GB.

I didn't bid on it, but would be proud to own it.
Congrats, I thought it was a nice one. I'm glad you got it.

Yes its pretty unique. I'm certain that was the one I was watching. I guess I could look it up on the ended auctions, but really not necessary. I'm sure it was the one.
    Congrats.

I have done that. Kinda doing it now. Not sure why the little pistol is currently on my radar but I woke up a couple times to check to see if I was still high bidder. I bid on these things all the time and end up losing by a frogs hair. Eventually I’ll win one. This one is ugly and will run off some of my competition.

And no I’m not sharing what it is. I think that may have bitten me a time or ten.

I have never seen one exactly like that. I like it a lot. You have good taste. Hopefully you got it for a song.

I dont blame you. Gunbroker is part of my evening entertainment since we quit watching the "nightly lies" that we used call the "nightly news". I keep about a dozen on my watchlist at all times. If they're too cheap I might bid on it. Thats how I got my s&w 66, and a couple others.

I did the buy now on
Thank you, not sure what I have yet, as far as condition, but it sure feels good, definite short Arbor but locks up tight, BN code puts it at a 2000 , been shot but not alot, came with Uberti original grips, set of one piece faux ivory, and what looks to be a set of one piece bison. My first Dragoon, but feels good...

Nice looking gun! I also have a gunbroker problem. I had been doing my best to stay off there but also have been looking for another Pietta 1873 in 45 Colt. I picked this one up at a local gun shop last summer.

    Pietta Pistolero 45 Colt.jpg

I needed another 1 to go with it, preferably with a longer barrel. Scored this one:

I will shoot BP cartridges in these. And may get matching grips for them. The holster was an added bonus but I already have holsters for both of these.

Fiddled around with the Dragoon this morning a little, the black grips must have never been on the gun, had to file the inside surface to fit the backstrap. Dont know what material they are made from but it files and sands like hardwood, not a bad fit for not factory, definitely don't fit like the factory wood but close enough for me.

I was checking out the cylinder and it seems to have a coating on it to get that color, not sure what, took as good a picture as I could, maybe someone can identify it, not sure if factory or not but it was a good job.

The more I fiddle with the more I like the beast, very well built.
