The Rx4 Storm is a self loading semiautomatic rifle conceived for "Small Game Hunting"

Those quotation marks seem pretty loaded...

Any reason why they're wasting half of their potential sight radius?

Small game rifle that is legal to hunt with in how many states? :uhoh:

I don't see a scope rail, and agree with Matthew, the front sight needs to be on the barrel where God intended it.

Actually, for the same reason as they do it on the CX4 - To facilitate barrel/caliber changes.

I like it, would have to actually handle one first though. Any idea of actual price yet?

I don't see the big deal about the sight radius. The M16's sight isn't on the end of the barrel either.

That does look pretty dumb.

Have you guys seen California's response to not having an AR-15 type rifle? Personally I think it would kick the Storms butt but I'm a little biased on this rifle.

I bet that thing isn't on the market a year before it's dumped. Good luck selling that ugly thing. As already mentioned, the sight radius is too short. This wouldn't be a problem if it has a rail system to mount optics. Perhaps it's drilled and tapped for a scope mount... who knows.

I'll point and laugh when I see one.

That Blackstar AR is definitely going places. It's going to be a success in kali-like areas of the US. I mean come on, it can take ar15 uppers and all the accessories that can go on the uppers. That's neat.

Concur. You have (what is I assume to be) a complete, standard AR upper, mated to a Kali-compliant lower that you can discard upon moving to a free state or repeal of the current restrictions. Plus you get to laugh in the face of the Kali gun grabbers as you use a gun that is, in every important way, the equivalent of a standard AR.

Oh, bloody brilliant.

Brilliant is right. Assuming the lower functions as well as a standard lower you lose nothing except maybe a little astethic value and possible a small bit of ergonomics but still have a very capable firearm with all the pros of a good AR. .22 uppers, 9mm uppers, accessories etc.

What a great FU to TPTB.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH. HOOOOO! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA.

ouch. Dang. I think I just dislocated a rib. Ouch ouch ouch.

Ahem. Taken from the Blackstar Arms site:
Fundamentally, the Blackstar rifle is simply a redesigned AR-15 lower receiver in which the trigger has been moved up and back so that a traditional comb stock can be used. As is well known to the directors of the VPC and the Brady Center, a comb stock is far less dangerous to public order than a pistol grip. Not only will Blackstar shooters be able to legally enjoy all the functionality of an AR-15 rifle, but they will be able to sleep better at night knowing their use of a dolphin-friendly traditional comb stock must result in far less injury, death and carnage than would be caused by a pistol grip stock. And fewer dead kittens.
OK. I almost want to buy one myself, just befreakincause.

Unlike 99.99999% of online shooters, I am not the least bit concerned how an EBR looks, if it's comfortable, functional accurate and adaptable.

I'm such a silly sally. I'm never in the latest range fashions.

The R1 action of the RX4 is pretty stout, been around a while, I see no reason it won't be a good shooter, and it does look like it's got decent ergos. I'll wait to put my mitts on one before passing judgement or puking in my mouth at the sight of it. If it can be had in the states with evil features, is priced under or near an entry level AR, it might have a shot.

Handled one at the shot show in Las Vegas I liked it, not as ugly in person felt like a nice rifle in the short or long barrel model. I would buy one in 6.8 or 6.5 as I allready have 4 semi-auto .223s.
