I might come, although I got a lot of attitude a couple of times I was there. I should go there one more time before Azusa shuts them down and I do like their restaurant :D

What "cool guns" do you want me to bring? My collection is like 2/3's to 3/4's handguns though and I don't have any "assault weapons".

I think gunrunners down the street is open on Sun too so we could check that out before the shoot. There is also a pawnshop in Azusa that sells guns.

Even if I don't shoot, I suppose I could stop by and say hi and do a show and tell session and do you plan on shooting a round of trap? I think the calguns fellows had a shoot there once but Angeles seems to be their usual spot.

Yup, me and Beetle will be there for sure. ;) :)

Come on out, folks. This is the gun range that the City of Azuza is shutting down, so enjoy it while you can. You can shoot paper at 50 ft., 25 yds., 50 yds., or 100 yds. 200 yd. targets are also available, but they're at the far end of the range. You can also bring steel spinners (I'll be bringing mine), but they have to be at a minimum of 50 yds.

So, how about it, SoCal THR members? Wanna get your shoot on?

Whatever you think is cool will be fine ;) . I mostly shoot auto-pistols, but if it goes "bang" I'm probably interested. Ball & Cap revolver, muzzleloader, lever-actions, etc. I try to keep an open mind.

Since your screen name is "Moonclip", do you have a .45 ACP revolver? I'm interested in getting one, but I've never shot one before.

Just look for 3 skinny asian guys

BTW, I'll be wearing my blue "Molon Labe" shirt so I should be easy to find.

BB, I have a S&W 25-2 6" and a older mod 625-2 mod of 1988 45acp revolver. I suppose I could bring them along and let you shoot off a few rounds. Either gun will be hard to find on the CA market though and you most likely have to settle for a newer 625 with the integral lock. I also have 9mm revolvers if you are so interested.

I have only seen 2 or 3 25-2's and one older 625-2's for sale in the last 4-5 years and I attend guns shows and gun shops religiously in LA and OC and the IE.

I don't want to dirty up like 20-30 handguns so whatever people want to shoot the most, we will shoot, and the other ones will have to be "show and tell" :D Not that I have been keeping up with the gun cleaning chores though :(

BTW, what guns will you be bringing? I have little in the way of cap and ball and BP guns so I think I will save them for another time.

With regards to S&W revolvers with or without the dreaded lock, I've come to feel that I just have to take what I can get, so I'll probably look at one of those 625 JM's after the new year. As for your 25-2 or 625-2, either one would be terrific. I consider it a bit of an honor whenever someone offers to let me shoot one of their guns  .

I'll be bringing my new CZ75B Tactical 9x19mm pistol as well as a Series 80 Colt Government (the NRM one).

Also a M48 Yugo Mauser and a CZ452 Lux .22lr rifle. The CZ is a neat little rifle and fairly accurate - it's one of my favorites.

I might bring another milsurp rifle as well, but I'm not sure what. . .

Can you guys wait a week?

Planning a shoot for the weekend of the 15th.

I know we shot together before with Mauserlady out in Rosamond, let me know and I'll PM you with the info.

Well...

I can shoot both weeks, but I've already got people confirming on 1911forum also... so don't think cancelling this one would be a good idea.

Hey... the more time to shoot the better!

50 Shooter Hey, long time no see, huh? Thanks again for letting me shoot your .50 BMG, it was a thrill  . BTW, next time you see Dave and Carol, let'em know I said "Hi!" As for the 15th, I need time to "get my ducks in a row" before I can commit, but I'll certainly PM you if it's a possibility. Thanks for askin' :) .

Black Majik Sounds like this is gonna be a bit of a .45 ACP festival. . . Cool! But I'm still gonna bring a 9mm as well ;) .

BB, a heads up, sorry, but I will not be able to bring the 45 revolvers or the 9's. I have them in storage at a relatives house and I won't have time to dig them out of the safe by then

However, I will make it up by bring other cool guns! It's going to be 9x19 and 40S&W and 22lr handguns mostly. I'm only going to bring a custom 10/22 and a Swiss 7.5x55 K31. I don't feel like cleaning milsurps with corrosive ammo and since I have not been shooting for a long time, especially rifles, the inherent accuracy of this gun will keep me from embarassing myself as much!

Of course you are welcome to shoot a few rounds out of my guns. I figure anyone posting to THR knows enough not to "Bogart flip" my revolvers of slam my autos slides from slidelock on to an empty chamber. Please no Wolf or reloads in my guns though except for Makarovs and SKS :)

Some guns I will be bringing include Sig Sauer P225 and P239, Browning High Power in 40, various CZ's and Glock in 40, Ruger 22/45 and MKII in target variations, and others.

Will I be the only non Asian there? Thats ok though, the guy whom I probably consider my best friend is Asian and I will get my dad and a friend of his to at least visit so I don't feel left out :D

So it's looks like 9x19 and 40S&W day for me at least. 357mag and 45acp day will have to wait until next time!

hrmm I might try to make it. I have some vague idea where that is but I might end up down toward pendleton going to play paintball with my uncle anywyas if I don't make it hope you all have fun.

Yasag

Yet another skinny Asian guy here. Sounds like fun. Looking foward to meeting everyone.

-Benny

I'd like to go. I don't have a lockable vehicle here, just an old M38A1.

So, if anyone would be willing to pick me up in Anaheim (just off the 5), I'll bring my mini 1911 (STI) and a Glock 34.

Wow, this is getting big  . I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait. Maybe I should try to get some of those stickers that say: "Hello, my name is _______" ;) Or would that be too silly and I should just use the money for ammo?

A note for everyone: You don't have to be skinny, or Asian, or shoot 1911's, or own EBR's to attend. ;) Just safe, responsible adults who want to enjoy firearms and meet other members of THR (and 1911forum). :D

Moonclip FYI (and please disregard if you handload or buy commerical) I recently got a Swiss K-31 and they are definately terrific rifles, but the surplus GP-11 has steel in it (dunno if it's steel jacket or steel core, but it attracts a magnet). The range does not allow ammo with steel in it, or for that matter, armor piercing, tracer, or incendiary rounds. Actually that last part goes for everybody. All the info is on the website and I would hate for anyone's day to be ruined by this.

Paul, dont worry, there will be others there that aren't asian. :D

Yes, this does seem to be getting quite a nice turnout. But the concern for noticing THR/1911 members came up on the other forum.

So, to find people, I figured we all wear blue shirts of some sort. I know Ken's gonna wear a blue molon labe shirt, I'll wear a blue polo shirt. So, just in case people can find everyone else, I figure this way would be easy for members to spot other members.

Kevlarman, it'd be nice to shoot with you again!

Right now we have:
1) Black Majik (THR)
2) Bambam-31 (THR)
3) Beetle Bailey (THR)
4) Kevlarman (THR)
5) Moonclip (THR)
6) Luchtaine (THR)
7) iGSR96 (THR)
8) Amadeus (THR)
9) Otherguy (THR)
10) Eclipse 1 (1911Forum)
11) Kennykeum (1911Forum)
12) Gregshin (1911Forum)
13) Supernam (1911Forum)

Yeah... I'm excited too. :D

:D Hello, my name is Benny and I'll be wearing this:

So I don't have to be Asian or skinny or have an EBR to come then? Good because I'm not one drop Asian, I'm definately not skinny(but getting there) and I sold off all my EBR's! :D

BB, thanks for the reminder on the GP11 7.5x55. I actually shot some once there not really thinking about it but the "range Nazis" didn't notice. I really need to think what milsurp rifle I own I have available to me right now that does not have steel jacketed ammo. I may only bring my 870 and my 10/22 for long guns if I can't find my non steel core ammo for my Yugo Mauser.

I'll try to remember to wear a blue shirt but BM sort of knows what I look like, I met him breifly once.

I think Black Majik should hold up a "THR/1911" sign like those drivers at the airport. :D

And since it's a Sunday, I'll prolly wear a football jersey.

(Ken, leave the Yugo, bring the RC. ;) )

Volunteers?

I'm still looking for a volunteer to ride with to the range. I don't have a lockable vehicle to transport firearms in, I've only a 50+ year old military jeep with a fabric top. My California "gun friendly" vehicle is parked about 1650 miles to the east.

So, my place is just a few blocks of the 5 Fwy and Lincoln avenue in Anaheim.

Address and phone number will be provided via private message.

Will shoot for ride!
