Hi, I was browsing at a local shop the other day and they had a Smith and Wesson 15-22 for $499 this price is seeming a little high the more I look around. What are the majority of opinions on these rifles? Is $499 too high for one? Thanks

You can get a Ruger 10-22 for a lot less, but if you get the Archangel furniture to make it look like an AR the price is close to the same.

Bud's gun shop was selling them for $419 for a while, but the one I handled there today was $449, probably because S&W raised the MSRP from $499 to $569.

$499 is high. I got mine for $424 out the door a couple months ago, but I heard they were up a little . I saw it on the wall at the same shop for 439.00. I love mine Wayyyyyyy more fun than my 10/22. Mags are cheap and accuracy is very good. 10/22 is more accurate for me, but the S&W fun factor blows it away. Once I got a couple hundred rounds thru it, it hasn't missed a beat even with bulk ammo. They don't like Remington ammo and that seems to be the case all over what I've read on the internet.
