The search feature is only giving me 6 results for Missouri. I know this has been answered but I simply can't find it.

Loading .40 and the 180 Grain TCFP Missouri bullet. I'm using SR5746 powder. Can someone recommend a good starting load?

Sin City Shooter, do you mean IMR SR 4756?

This is what's listed at Hodgdon's website (Hodgdon owns IMR) - http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp

Since you are loading for lead and the listed data is for jacketed, I would start 10% below and work up from there. Perhaps start at 5.5 gr?

180 GR. HDY XTP IMR SR 4756 1.125" OAL Start 6.1 gr 957 fps - Max 6.6 gr 1018 fps

Yeah that's what I meant 4756. My Lymann book doesn't show this powder so I went to IMR's site and got some data. I made 25 rounds in 5 round increments starting at 6.0 grns and up by .1 each 5 rounds. I'm going to see how they fire tonight.

Lube Smoke

You will need to limit shooting lead to windy days:)

I have noticed a star pattern of smooge on the barrel crown after shooting lead.

This pattern matches the rifling and shows that there is still lube on the bullet as it exits the barrel and doing it's job:D

Two nights ago I put a MBC 170 gr SWC right through my Chrony Beta. :what: Up retrieval of my Chrony I found my bullet sitting in the belly of my Chrony. Sho nuff, it still had its blue lube ring intact. Do you think it helped lube its way through my chrony? :D
