My dad is giving me my grandfather's S&W model 29 in .44 mag. I am curious as to when it was made.

It has on it the following info.

It looks like this is the serial #
    N8147
    Mod 29.2

It also has this number on it.
    32024

Thanks so much for the help.

David, your grandfather's S&W Model 29-2 was made sometime between 1969-1972 based on serial number you've posted. Hope this helps!

David, my information comes from the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, by Jim Supica & Richard Nahas. It basically lists serial number range N1-N99999 being made from 1969-1972. Hope this helps!
