Is this gun made in 22 LR? all I can find are 357/38-a local ad
has one in 22?

These should only be in .357 Magnum, they are made as L-frame equivalents to the 19. The 66 really.

The 619, SKU #164301, replaced the 65 over a year ago. It is a 4" seven-shot fixed-sight .357 Magnum/.38 Special - and is depicted as such on page 32, in the L-frame section, of the current 2006 printed S&W catalog. On the previous page (31), under K frames, you will find three 617's depicted - a 6" 6-round and both a 4" and 6" ten-shooter - all .22 LR's. With smaller holes in the barrel and cylinder, the smaller frame opening of the full lug 4" 617 at 41 oz still outweighs the larger frame opening half lug 619 at 37.5 oz. The K & L frames take the same size grip.

A K-frame stainless steel .22LR should be the 617, not 619.
