Anyone know about a S&W 910 9mm? Can someone tell me about the trigger? Is it a good deal at 230 out the door?

How can you go wrong for a alloy framed S&W 9mm for $230?
The 910 is the successor to the 915 and both are economy versions of the 5904. Very reliable, with a mushy DA trigger and a very short reset

I been on here waiting for you to reply lol... I am going to pick it up at 10 tomorrow. I don't think I will be expecting good finish for 230. I will post a pic up after I got it.

The S&W 3rd Gen economy pistols are often overlooked. They just lack the final polish and lack a couple of cuts on the frame that make the M-5904 look better. It is much like the difference between the M-27 ".357 Magnum" and the M-28 "Highway Patrolman". Other models in the line are the M-457 (compact .45ACP) and M-908 (single stack compact 9mm)...I seem to remember a 410 (or something like that) which was chambered in .40
I think you'll like the M-910. It traces it's roots to just after the Korean War when the Air Force was looking for a lightweight 9mm. The two contestants were the Colt Commander and the S&W M-39.
The big pluses of the S&W M-59 family were it's excellent external extractor and leading edge short resetting trigger.
The big minuses were the mushy DA trigger pull, the slide mounted safety and the old fashioned take down...having to pull the slide stop

Due to economic factors, S&W has discontinued their line of 3rd generation pistols.
They discontinued them when they released the M&P series of pistols.
The S&W Performance Center produces, on a limited basis, a couple variants of a 3rd generation pistol (modified Model 39). They are in the $2000 price range.

All the 3rd Gens I've come across have been from LE trade-ins. SCP Firearms in FL had some M-3913s and 3914s a while back...plus Steve is just a stand up guy...and I've done a lot of business with him over the years

Well here is my piece, and as promise this is what a $230 gun looks like.
The finish had scratched off on edges of the gun, this looks like it's been carried in holster quite some time. Even the S&W on the slide is barely visible because of the wore off finish. There's minor surface rust, very minor and easily treated.
Here is my concern though. When I use the decocker to lower the hammer, the hammer drops REAL fast, much like when you are pulling the trigger. But when I carefully look in there, the decocker raises a block so the hammer strikes the block instead. I am used to the decocker that lowers to half cock on my CZ. So I guess I learn something new everyday.
One more thing that raises my alarm is that the foam case that came with it smells like drug... maybe just cigar smell.
Oh, on the bright side, the gentleman threw in a box of ammo too, even though it was not previously mention in the deal.
Also I just took it apart, the barrel is very nice and clean, inside of the slide is oily and no rush. Now I just need to take care of the surface rust on the slide.

It is normal for the hammer to drop fully and suddenly when decocking with the safety. The firing pin is encapsulated when decocking and the hammer does not fall fast enough in any case. Also, you can leave the safety engaged when jacking the slide and the hammer will fall each time instead of staying cocked.
The 910 is just a 915 with 10-round magazines, introduced at the time of the '94 AWB. Now that that silliness is history, you can use the standard 15-round mags.

That gun doesn't look bad at all. All the wear on the frame looks normal for a gun that was carried a lot and not shot much...not enough wear in the mag well.
The slide should clean up nicely. I'd soak it for a couple of days in Hoppe's #9 and hit it with a tooth brush. If you want more blue to it, it shouldn't be very expensive to have someone give it a quick drip in a bluing tank.
