I just picked up a S&W Airweight today. Pawnshop deal, very good condition after I cleaned it up, had been a LE backup gun, $200 out the door, seems pretty light to handle full power .38s. Anything I need to know about this gun before I warm it up? I reload for a few full sized .357s and .38s.

I shoot heavy (158-gr) moderate velocity LSWCs or LSWC-HPs in mine. Less wear on the entire mechanism than 125-gr +P JHPs plus the bullet drives deeper and cuts a good wound channel.

Also the sights are regulated for the standard velocity 158-gr load.

Is yours external hammer or internal? They are great guns either way! I only own one but it an almost constant companion.

Its external. I use Red Dot for my handguns, use 125g fmj bullets in 9mm/.38/.357, will find some heavier ones. Thanks
