June 13th was a nice day - I was headed to a local tire emporium for new shoes for my Jeep. I had heard of a 'new' gunstore - and made the mistake of finding same. There - in the case - three new S&W Governors... $589! I got a little off - and left with one, after never having seen it before... and just trying my usual haunts the days before. My wife was shocked... I am on 'may pops' on the Jeep still. But, I had a new toy. A call to S&W revealled that they had a holster - and in a few days, so did I!

Like the 3" J-frame holster I had gotten earlier this year from S&W Accessories, the holster was a well-made one by DeSantis - and ran ~$65 + s/h + ST. Within the first few days, I had found a use for my spare .500 Magnum Hogues, also from S&W Accessories. They fit the Z-frame perfectly - and absorb the .410 recoil handily (Get it... 'handily'...). It aint a pocket gun, so their larger grip size doesn't detract from their use there.

Canted forward and with the hammer protected, it is quite secure. It is not a 'fast draw' candidate. Even volumetrically challenged as I am, it was not uncomfortable standing. Sitting, you know it is there... as is my 'spare tire', of course - interference with any side holster. Nicely made holster - great gun fit - excellent value - and available.
