Ran another 50 rds of CMP Eley bulk ammo through my little Smith yesterday.
I've had the pistol now for about 2 years, shooting about 150 rounds per month. No matter what I do, it just plain refuses to malfunction.
It feeds & ejects any ammo I can stuff into its mags. Thunderbolt, Eley, CCI, Fed, etc. Hi velocity, standard velocity, hyper velocity, hollow points, flat points, you name it, the little pistol works with it.
If the round goes off, the pistol works. Limp wrist, strong wrist no matter.
Accuracy after a thorough cleaning of the barrel is at least equal to my carry pistols, clanging (actually pinging) the 10" 50 yard steel at my club with fairly good regularity. Truth be told, the pistol probably shoots better than I can.
Cheap practice and excellent reliability. What more to ask for in an inexpensive small RF pistol.

Though my Browning Buckmark is my favorite 22LR pistol, I find my M&P 22 Compact also to be a very fun and reliable plinker with a wide range of ammo. I also highly recommend it. IMO one of the very best poly frame combat style 22 pistols, though a bit on the smaller side for people with really large hands. One of these days I want to replace the front sight with a fiber optic one.

My M&P 22 compact is turning out to be better than I had hoped for. Totally reliable and it's accuracy has improved with time and ammo (or is it just me getting better). I had bought it as a sub-caliber training gun and woods companion, two roles that it's filling nicely. No regrets at all with the purchase.
