I picked up a new conceal carry pistol . The Shield Plus . I looked at all of the small slim 9mm pistols and decided on this one . It helped that S&W has a $50 rebate on it . It has night sights and is optic ready for $400 dollars after the rebate . Two magazines , 10 and 13 rounds . IMG_2652.jpeg

Awesome!
I hope you like it as much as I love mine!
one thing that I did was to get mag extensions for each of my magazines.
Nimrod’s Wares Pearce Grip extension off of Amazon
i have small hands, and the grip was still just a little short for me, and these extensions were perfect for that little extra space for my pinky finger.

An outstanding choice, IMHO. As I have said in the past, my Shield Plus will likely be the last belt-carry CC pistol I ever buy. The grip's a bit short for me with the 10-round mags, but it's perfect with the 13-rounders. I bought about a half dozen 13-round mags, put some night sights on it, and I'm good to go.

I had an original Shield for awhile and I liked it a lot, thin, dependable, fairly easy to shoot well. My only "gripe" was the long but thin
grip wanted to twist in my hand when shooting, so I really had to focus on that not happening. The Plus is 1.1" wide where the original
was .95 (IIRC), so that would help, but I never got to handle a Plus, and had bought the P-365 by then which replaced the Shield. My
buddy loved the Shield, so I gave it to him after I fell in love with the 365 and it made the Shield obsolete for me. If I had handled a Shield
Plus before the 365 came out, who knows.....but knowing me, I'd have still tried a P-365.

Can't go wrong with either IMHO, we have such great choices these days.

Walkalong I agree with everything that you wrote in your post . I have the same concerns about the Shield Plus with the thin , flat feeling grip . I didn’t buy an original Shield years ago because of that feel and bought a Kahr P9 . The 2 pistols that I was debating over getting this time were the Sig 365x and the Shield Plus . It was a hard decision , but I have read more about how the Plus shoots like a bigger pistol and most report of them shooting it very accurately . The one thing that I didn’t like on the 365 was the short grip from from to back , but that can easily be changed to a aftermarket frame or FCU . But for the price I thought the Shield Plus was a much better choice . I got that pistol for $400 dollars after rebate , with night sights and optic ready . I think the Sig would have been around $600 . But that’s only if I like it after shooting it .

Which is something I like, so different hands, different whatever. The 365 shoots like a bigger gun as well, I noticed that in my first range trip with it that I documented here.

As far as the short grip, I was leery of that when I bought it (my mind was made up I was going to buy it unless it felt terrible in my hand), but it had the 12 round mag with the extension so I figured that was covered just in case.

Well, turned out I shot it just as well with the short grip flush 10 rounder as I did with the longer 12 rounder, despite thinking it would be otherwise. Which just goes to show we need to shoot stuff to see what we like.

The 365 and the Shield Plus are vertually the same to me. except for the bottom of the grip. I felt the Shield was a little bigger maybe but with both laying on top of each other, they looked the same, except for the grip.
If you have one you pretty much know what the other is like.
My PC model is a joy to shoot but it's a ported model so the inside of the slide is a real mess after shooting it. That I could have done without the porting. I gave my Gen1 Shield to my son and he loves it.
I much prefer the Plus model because of the wider grips.
I found the original Shield to be harder to shoot accurately then the thicker Shield +PC, but like I said, mine's a Precision Center model and has almost as good of a trigger as my Q5 Walther SF Pro.
For the money you can't beat either one of them.
